Funny, countless celebrities and athletes have done all this on a far higher level than Tariq yet been clowned. And yet the same people who would dap this tepid ass list are the same people who would dismiss a bill that cut the black un-insured rate by 50%

By forcing blacks into a financial corner.....Pay (not free) or face a fine come tax time. Of all of the major issues concerning black Americans (save for life style choices and subsequent problems) how in the Hell has this helped black people? This bill (Obamacare) CRIPPLED black businesses. Most of whom are small, and could not afford to pay their employee's insurance or barely even their salaries. Context is key here.

because it didn't have the word "black" in the title or apply only to black people.

This didn't help black people. It's nothing more than a political talking point during a debate. What are the real issues facing black America? Wouldn't you consider blacks being projected to be completely broke by 2053 to be the biggest crisis facing our people in this Capitalist society today? Who in Congress, and specifically the CBC has made this a hot button issue?

Oh so Tariq can sit behind his laptop and diss black folks left and right, but when pressure is applied to him we need to call his show? You ever call his show and tell him to do the same?? :jbhmm:

Never called his show because that nikka don't live rent free in my head enough to where I wanted to address him.

But my partners from Oakland got his bumper when they felt they had issues with him.. Especially when that nikka tried to throw the game under the bus and tried to dismiss the "Art of Mackin" and all of that playa shyt he was kicking from Rosebudd as "satire" when he was pressed about it on the Tucker Carlson show years back.

But coli nikkas be talking about wanting to split his wig, he needs a bullet, and all of that extra talk.. Nikkas make a thread everyday outraged about him so pull up on his show, raid his page or see him in the streets and handle it.

You mentioned Obamacare hurt black businesses but skipped the part of how it helped black people who aren't business owners. You know how fukking hard it was it was for the Obama to pass a sweeping Healthcare bill? Instead of saying it was a step, you resort to the lowest denominator of how it hurt business owners. Why did you not mention the black population it helped?

That nikka called out John Lewis the day after he died, so yeah I made a thread calling him out. That don't mean he live rent free in my head. :rudy: That shyt was fukked up and I called it out. He grown, he don't need you caping for him. Trust he gives out plenty smoke, so his ass better be ready to receive it as well.

Super disrespectful. We stand on the shoulders of previous giants.

I'm not a fan of Tariq but, in his defense, he wasn't just mocking John Lewis in that tweet, he was mocking Marco Rubio who put up a tribute to John Lewis but the picture was of him and Rep. Cummings.

Tariq wasn't the only one doing that either. Tons of other Twitter personalities were doing it too to mock Rubio.

This was the tweet in question-

You mentioned Obamacare hurt black businesses but skipped the part of how it helped black people who aren't business owners.

How did it help black people when it was essentially a new tax? This was a new bill that came out of people's check. In order to avoid a possibly $800+ fine come tax time, we had to agree to elect to take anywhere from $15-$100+ dollars per check. Let's go with $15 a check...that's somebody's internet bill right there! The business ownership in the black community is what is under constant attack, and what needs Federal protection not a new tax. The black Community was best when black business ownership and subsequent intra-racial trade was thriving. Nothing that this bill did helps us blacks. It's an empty Democratic gesture that gives subsequently gives major insurance companies way more power than they already had.

You know how fukking hard it was it was for the Obama to pass a sweeping Healthcare bill? Instead of saying it was a step, you resort to the lowest denominator of how it hurt business owners.

A step for what though? Who asked for this? Black wealth had been ROCKED to it's foundation during the 2008 economic crash, which hurt us more than any other race. THAT, should have been a priority for the Democratic's and particularly the CBC (Mr. Lewis). It was not! Instead we were given a "rising tide lifts all boats" remedy while the Democrats KNEW FULL WELL that blacks have a hole in our boat (so we wouldn't rise).

Why did you not mention the black population it helped?

You have yet to say how that new tax helps black people. What are the social indicators of it helping black people in the time that it was in place?

Here we go with the right wing talking points huh. Small businesses with under 50 employees - you know, like the majority of black businesses in America - were exempt from paying their employee's healthcare.

Un-insured rate, cut in half. Didn't help black people. Yea ok bro.

Did the Affordable Care Act Reduce Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Health Insurance Coverage? | Commonwealth Fund

Findings
The proportion of nonelderly adults lacking health insurance fell from 20.5 percent in 2013 to 12.3 percent in 2017, a decline of 40 percent, while racial gaps decreased.

All U.S. racial and ethnic groups saw comparable, proportionate declines in uninsured rates (Exhibit 1). However, because uninsured rates started off much higher among Hispanic and black non-Hispanic adults than among white non-Hispanic adults, the coverage gap between blacks and whites declined from 11.0 percentage points in 2013 to 5.3 percentage points in 2017. Likewise, the coverage gap between Hispanics and non-Hispanic whites dropped from 25.4 points to 16.6 points.
