I have the same point that I made way back when this thread was created which was a expanded college football playoff would be better for the sport.
While I agree you immediately suggested that somehow USC or alabama eliminating TCU is A. Good, and B. An inevitably. Which B is definitely not true for USC. Only someone who didn't watch USC this year would say so like @Godless Liberal CEO said...

Get over it. No ones anything for sure. The runner up team just lost by 60 points. Anything can happen.

Honestly this mentality is why I hate when people laugh at the smaller bowls. As an emu alum I was very glad we went to and won the Idaho potato bowl. An emu season with 9 wins and a bowl W is fukkin fun. And we appreciate it. Saying "that's a bullshyt team what's the point" and handwaving whole size and scopes of schools, let alone their athletic programs. Emu isn't even that great a school admittedly, but my life has been *real* good since I graduated. And I'll forever support emu over anyone including the other flag in my avatar.

As a supporter & grad of a G5 team, what’s your opinion on being in the FBS subdivision??

G5 teams need to go undefeated for multiple years to even be considered for a playoff spot, and when they get in & get beat like Cincinnati, everyone says “we told you they shouldn’t have been in it” & it’ll take a while for another G5 team to get in. What’s the end goal to be in FBS if you can’t even compete for a national title? That shyt has never made sense to me..

I went to and support HBCUS. I didn’t like how the FCS playoffs always turned their nose at the MEAC & SWAC, so when the Celebration Bowl was created, I was excited because we finally had our own shyt. The Celebration Bowl is vastly superior to the FCS playoffs..we get more revenue, attendance, and viewers on TV. An HBCU or “Black College National Championship” as it used to be called means more to me than a FCS title.

Would you be cool with the G5 teams breaking off from the P5 & doing their own thing? With the way money & recruiting is going, it’s about to get even harder for schools like EMU to get recognition.

Reactionary thread. TCU deserved to be there. The problem wasn't TCU.... Georgia would NOT have lost to anyone.. they were the best team.

They tried to set it up to get a Michigan/Ohio State rematch in the Championship game. TCU was 3 the week before and lost and didn't drop.

In hindsight Ohio State/Michigan rematch winner should have played Georgia for the NC

TCU beat Michigan head to head. Michigan beat Ohio State head to head. The committee got it right. TCU deserved to be in the championship game. This really isn’t the first time this has happened. Back in 95 both Nebraska and Florida deserved to be in the game but one team got trounced cause they couldnt match up at the line of scrimmage.

How bout a limit on how many 5 & 4 stars you can sign each year? :patrice:

The CFB version of a salary cap
Lol! NCAA would get sued into oblivion.

NIL really isn’t that big of a problem It looks like most teams overspend one year and they fallback when they see no return on investment. Really what was the point in Texas A&M breaking the bank to not even make a bowl game? There does need to be more rules in place though.

They real issue is the wide open transfer portal. They need to go back to making people sit out a year unless there is a circumstance like coach leaving, needing to be closer to family, or whatever would realistically qualify for a waiver. I’m good with JState players following Prime.

There are players who we talk about transferring then there are thousands of players who are stuck in the portal with no school to go to. The portal is just too easy to get into so anytime a player has something going on they just hop in the portal. Then there are folks lurking around the team getting paid to gaslight them into transferring.
