Oh okay bet, I lived in Elmira and swerved all thru Upstate at one time. You from Roc? I had some fellas from Roc I was cool with, also got into it with a group of Roc nikkas at a house party when I first came to NY. It's been almost 6.5 years since I left NY, I got love for my Upstate people...

My homie has a son that plays football for Indiana University now but in his senior year they went up to play Elmira and he said the whole team was Black.

If you’re from Long Island especially Nassau and you’re from westChester areas like New Ro Yonkers and Mt Vernon you’re basically bordering the city and could be blocks from nyc so that’s as far as I’d call a ny’er

Once you’re talking about far upstate you might as well be talking about the Deep South it feels like you could be in Tennessee. Then areas like Syracuse Buffalo Itacha etc I mean in nyc you’re as close to Ohio as you are those places miles wise and culturally

no one upstate or in WNY has a NYC accent or even talks like that

they got their own accents in buffalo, syracuse and rochester and it sounds more like chicago accent than NYC. those cities are much more like chicago or detroit than NYC. nothing is like NYC anywhere in the country, cant compare the boros to anywhere. staten island has a WNY feel i guess, if you had to compare. lotta italians and bullshyt.

idk much about Syracuse, but i used to be in buffalo and rochester a little bit en route to canada. canada is right there. shyt you used to be able to walk across the border, no passport. sometimes going IN to Can they wouldnt even ID you at all but this was a long time ago.

i havent been up in a while, but both cities are much better places to live versus 10-20 years ago. easy places to buy property and run a business, and people got hip to that. theres a little resurgence going on up there. the weather anywhere along the lakes is miserable though. lotta good music coming out of that area of the state too

Upstate full of colleges with NY kids flexing and trapping and scamming out the dorms and setting up shop off campus and putting y’all nikkas on game I seen it with my own two eyes in Buffalo
