can we all admit that everyone in some way, shape or form has had a "ghostwriter" or ghostproducer"?

this wasnt even in our brains before Drake/Meek:mjcry:

The internet/social media is ruining music:mjcry:

This whole concept of rappers not writing 100% of their rhymes is like finding out Santa Claus isnt real:mjcry:\

Lets just stop talking about it yall:mjcry:

ok, bruh you right
but let's stick to the topic at hand

lemme rephrase it, 9 times outta 10, most prolly do
is that better?

You are not even certain about what you are saying. Re-read what you are typing, "9 out of 10 times, most probably do"

You have no idea of rappers' writing process and you are making a blanket statement with no supporting evidence.

On this basis, this is why no one is taking the thread seriously

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
i wouldn't be shocked if 1 of tha outlawz or thug life threw him a line or 2 from time to time

look man, i know it sucks to think of your goat as not havin' bein' the creator of every single line/verse ever credited to him, but it is what it is

i'm just sayin' sometimes ideas, lines and slang gets thrown around and when you got yo nikkas and crew withchu in the studio, sometimes they help and add their 2 cents to how a line should be or shouldn't if y'all all in the studio listenin' to the music and they wanna see you win and sound your best
Thats not ghostwriting and actually Pac ghostwrote for the outlaws. He also ghostwrote for Shock G on I Get Around.

No because they haven't. Now a ton of popular artists have/had help but not *ALL* people. Now if you want to give it that Coli loose definition where it's if a guy burps near a mic and it gets on the track he should get co producer credit or hes a ghost producer.....

Some people are legit artists and take their art very serious. Others are just in it for the money and fame....

true,

the main point i'm tryin' to make and that keeps gettin' lost in the sauce is most (maybe not all) but most of these nikkas done had a nikka or 2 either help write or write some shyt for em'

every nikka draws writer's block at some point or another or gets hit without comin' up with some shyt or maybe his camp or crew come up with an idea and they encourage him to roll with it because he need some shyt and can't come up with some shyt

i'm tryin' just tryin' to say, that most at some point or another have had, needed or gotten someone else to write or produce for them

cube done wrote for nikkas but a couple of nikkas have wrote for him

hardly anyone goes without the same help they give the next nikka

throwing a line or two isn't ghostwriting breh

ghostwriting is being handed a verse, and you spitting it... and even then to GHOST write, you gotta take it a step farther and not giving them any credit for it

but even if we leave off the second part, giving some lines while i'm writing a song, is definitely no parts of ghost writing

ok. but i also wouldn't doubt if a nikka has written a whole song or 2 for the next man either

however you wanna use the term "ghostwritin'", i don't doubt that most have had ghostwriters, yes sometimes even the ghostwriter himself, like ice cube

some people more than others

dre has always had a ghostwriter
puffy has always had a ghostwriter

but again, neither of those guys are "mcs" per say and are "producers" so that is what it is

but i'm makin' this thread because i just finished watchin' this king tee interview and really they ain't say nothin' i didn't already know, because i knew del (cube's cousin) wrote a couple of rhymes for him --- which is stated in the interview below

but no matter who the mc is, 9 times outta 10, whenever he in the studio and vibin' with his crew or best friends, 9 times outta some or maybe a couple or 1 of those friends who also write at some point or another will more than likely write for that mc and vice versa. it's common, y'all cool and maybe he got some great shyt he just thought of and wrote it and and you had writer's block and because y'all cool and he or they yo nikkas, you cool with it because y'all a crew

now i'm NOT sayin' all do it but i'm sure most and i'm NOT sayin' it's cool like say if you a mc who ALWAYS prides himself on bein' the "best" mc and you front like you've never had a nikka write yo rhymes but what i am sayin' it is common and it's always been to some degree even if an mc doesn't always use a ghostwriter

but 9 times outta 10, these guys run out of ideas and whenever someone or "the crew" come up with some great shyt and wanna see their homie still on top of his game, i'm sure most pen a line or 2 or 3 or a verse (lol) for their nikka

oh yeah, here's the interview (which i'm sure has been posted but fukk it, it goes along with this thread and is what this thread is about)

Del flat out denied writing raps for Cube several times. They exchanged ideas.

Del the Funky Homosapien Recalls the Past, Skips Nostalgia

For his own P-funk-sampling debut, Del remembers the moment Ice Cube cohort DJ Pooh — who went on to produce for 2Pac and Snoop — prompted a song. "I just came to the studio one day and Pooh was like, "Hey, Del, I got a song called 'Money for Sex.' This is how it goes: 'Money for sex, money for sex, ring it up!' Then he does the cash register sound. I was like, 'Ooh, that's cream, okay, let's do something with that.' Came back the next day and did the song." This collaborative process was common, he says: "It's not like Cube or Yo-Yo needed me to write lyrics as a ghost writer, but they invited me into the mix. We all helped out."

Fred.

i've heard that too

at this point, i don't what to believe

but you know what, and i don't mean no disrespect to nobody but i really don't care

all this "he say, he said" shyt back and forth bout who wrote or produced what, it's tirin' to me

that's why i'm sayin, at the end of the day, i'm just enjoyin' the music :yeshrug:
