Can we all agree that "Freethinker" = Republican?

I wouldn't mind them so much if they didn't sound like the same contrarian hivemind. It's like if you talk to one you've basically had a conversation with all of them because you will indeed be repeating yourself when you talk to the next freethinker.

It would also be nice if they reason about some of thier free thoughts with a little deductive reasoning.

I'd have to agree. And with the over corrections from the PC era, they definitely gonna run with it. Kinda funny/spooky that the sides are Woke and "Freethinking"

Not necessarily but its a sign that you are about to say something stupid or have a history of saying stupid shyt. Its like ppl who flex out of the blue....they either cappin or are new money.

The lady doth protest too much, type shyt. Stfu no one asked you.

Philosophically, that term doesn't make much sense. Our thoughts, about the outside world, develop based on our interactions within the outside world....we don't experience reality in a vaccum so there's a limit to how free a thought can really be. Likewise, if you're "freethinking" and not influenced by the outside world, you lack the ability to really learn anything....you're prone to falling into circular logic traps. This isn't something to brag about.... infants are freethinkers by such standards.

Then again, calling youself a freethinker is something a person prone to this type of thinking would do.... like a social rebel against tribal groupthink that sets out to find like minded individuals...a "group".

I’ve noticed this on dating sites. Most white girls in the MAGA tank are sprinkling in the fact that they’re a free thinker in their profiles.

No Sarah, you were a C/D student who kept her legs above her head for most of your time in hs and now are a stay at home mom with no career prospects. But all of that’s ok because you “took the red pill” during the pandemic

according to this forum, anyone that isn't in lockstep with democrats is automatically a republican
According to posting activity, if your kufi comes on when its a Democratic thread but your tie and bible come out when something mentions Republicans, that explains the stigma.

We cant keep having this conversation like we are imagining the fervor with which Dems are criticized on a buncha shyt and mentions of Republicans are met with what Dems do or are ignored altogether. The one notable exception I can think of is the thread when a Republican took funds for illegals and put them toward HBCUs. If Dems piss you off for everything from ignoring us to pandering to us, why is there little smoke for actual white supremacists doing shyt in our faces?

freethinker=contrarian.
As a serial contrarian, I disagree.

Contrarianism can be fine, when I'm being contrarian, it's to build stronger arguments and because I like arguing, their form of "contrarianism" is built on being recognized as special or seperate from "sheep" consensus. I just have an issue with the label because they are often so low effort, it's not even contranism, imo, it's just being stupid and playing into some Dunning-Kruger effect.

If a contrarian hasn't developed an actual argument, and you have them moving goalposts and arguing fallaciously, that's just a clown, imo.

Except, who actually holds to that position? The people I see "defending dems" aren't really defending dems, they are smart enough to recognize the Democratic party as being the better choice over the Republican party, they also recognize the steps towards getting the legislation done is more likely to happen under the Democratic party as opposed to the Republican.

You make your quarrels during the primary, during the primaries you would think I was a tankie, but during the general it's Republican vs Democrat, the logical choice if forced to pick one and you aren't a white and wealthy christian, is voting Dem.

If America had ranked-choice, if we had a party system like Canada, these things would make a lot more sense because hardly any of us would be a Democrat, at least from what I have read. I'm not even registered as a Dem in my state.
I honestly didn't recognize the irony until I hit submit. :mjlol:
