acquired taste maybe. but nothing sucked about Ghetto D/Ice Cream Man

and Tru 2 the Game / True had bangers

I was just about to say this. How can you judge him and the music from the outside looking in. You gotta be open minded and have diverse taste

I guess he’s trash compared to YOUR favorite artists and the quality of music right now in hindsight

But most would probably appreciate master p more looking back if they were from that era and region

P is cheap and caught lightning in a bottle with BBTP in the 1st place..😂

Cheap? or smart?

He created the same videos that others made (hood videos) he had Walmart and Target and other vendors fighting over his music to sell.

He used other producers besides BBTP that folks do not talk about.

As far as music, how was he cheap? If you wanna play the whole, not mixing his music, well I will say this, "in real time" very few if anybody cared about that aspect.

It's just today that you hear folks talking about how bad the records were not properly mixed. When the music came out, nobody sat around fussing about how bad the music was mixed, many didn't even know that was such of thing of mixing the music "in real time"

As I stated, the whole mixing his music has came about 'after' the success,

Master P as a rapper is average AT BEST.

Some of the finished tracks out of No Limit were pretty bad at times too.

But in general No Limit as a unit contributed many dope cuts.

How You Do That There is one of my favorite songs of all time, for instance.

It did amaze me that some of the shyt they did was popular cause I did hate some of it.

His music was trash. Like his flow was garbage. His beats were wack.

He just came at a time when hip hop wasn’t developed like that and he was one of the first to do it in his style. Since he was basically the first popping rapper out of New Orleans, every other rapper and collective to come out of their pays homage. Not saying he doesn’t deserve his legendary legendary, but his music wasn’t good at all and that is something we could all agree on.

His music hasn’t aged well at all some of that shyt is literally unlistenable. He was more of a businessman than a rapper. Rapping was a hustle he managed to make incredibly popular for him.
Just listened to ghetto d, tru ii the game and I’m bout it last week and it still sounds fresh AF…no one ever had P as a good rapper, and he doesn’t have an original bone in his body, but he had a run of making good songs tho :umad:
