Can we come out and admit Nelly was underrated?

lets be serious. Dude was a boss for about 5 yrs. BOSS. not just a regular artist, I'm talking about selling 3 mill on average. And he was dope(YES actually Nelly was dope) Dude was damn near the king of the hook. Even got a chance to put his homies on and everything. show my boy some love.
Nelly was dope, but he wasn't the king of the hook. That crown belonged to Nate dogg

I liked Nelly and the St. Lunatics. They were what they were, in their lane. Need not be anymore or less than that. Not great rappers but it was entertaining. I don't think he's over or under-rated.

How can people front on Nelly and then turn around and big up Future,Rich Homie Quan, Chief Keef, Max B, French Montana, and the rest of these trash ass rappers in the same breath?

I don't like any of those clowns either...that's one of the reasons I quit DJing live...can't play that garbage and being from ATL, that's all everyone wants to hear are the local hits

It's funny because compared to this era Nelly might as well have been Rakim with the lyrics.

This times 1000x and he wasn't a bad rapper anyway. Plus with his sing-songy delivery he was never going to be NAS or a very technical rapper either. Dude was dope with his own style.

he's a much better lyricist than damn 95% of these wack ass rappers out right now.

That collaboration he did with Kelly Rowland went strong for over a year. :wow: Had all the girls in 7th grade dropping notes in lockers daily.
