Can we finally admit HD-2D games are ugly?

They aren’t ugly. I think they should do a Guardian Heroes type game in this style tho. I think we got enough chibi NES sprites.

They look like a graphic design student learning about Photoshop filters.
I Also really hate how muted the colors are in those games, the Dragon Quest ones are the ones that look the best but even then would prefer traditional graphics.

This is an AAA and it was a PlayStation exclusive, what are you even ranting about

I don't even like most turn based RPGs or vintage style games, but this game is amazing. The game design that's based on a world that's just starting to get industrialized/modernized just works perfectly for this game. I'm also not one to Stan RPG soundtracks but the music in Octopath 2 is incredible.

It looks better on some games than others but for the most part I like the style. Especially on games like Octopath Traveler 1 and 2 and Dragon Quest III.
