long time 3-6 and project pat fan, there will never be another like them

@ 10:49 on the change and not being too happy with the shift from the original HipHop vibe/culture into the 1980's

those examples are weak and tangential. The first one is a little more useful but all Bambaataa says is that "the rapper got away from hip hop culture and leaving the DJ behind". Which I actually agree with. I've always maintained that the most powerful aspect of hip hop is the producer/DJ. They're the ones supplying the beat that makes this whole thing tick. When rappers started thinking they were the most important to the detriment of the other elements (especially the beats/groove), the genre started falling off (hence my "lyricism killed hip hop" thread). And Bam takes a shot at Diddy for being superficial. which was common back then and Diddy was only one aspect of the game (though a large one). At this time, Bam was still a huge Busta, Missy fan so he still loved current hip hop.
The second example just says "things changed". Well.... duh. There is no value judgement in any of those sentences around the timestamps you put.
Hopefully @Iron Chin Wilder will come with something better![]()
I think its safe to say that you will find a few examples. But to what degree though? I don't think you'll find anything on par with the overwhelmingly pervasive view from the 30+ club that hip hop today is garbage.I have some better stuff with interviews from may of the OG's, Im trying to remember the links/sources though.I'll post them when I find them.
I'm always thought his post 2003 work hasn't been good. What happen to Juicy J anyways , he was killing shyt and LITERALLY killed every verse he was featured on , and dropped those new singles to his new album and they flopped and just went ghost
I think it was said a year or 2 ago he had ghostwriters for his solo run , even Gangsta Boo co-signed itI'm always thought his post 2003 work hasn't been good.
I'm convinced one of the other members were writing for Paul and juice because their lyrical abilities went down the drain once hcp was done. Hell I would even argue ghost producers because their production sucks now and juice barely produces his stuff anymore, makes me think the lil pat rumors were true.

his solo run has been abysmal lol.I think it was said a year or 2 ago he had ghostwriters for his solo run , even Gangsta Boo co-signed it
Notice how choppy Paul's delivery been since falling out with the HCP affiliates. But listen to him on Crazyndalastdayz and listen to him on Unbreakables. It's like 2 different rappers

Lil Pat stopped working with them around 2000...production was still top notch for several years afterwards.
Mista Don't Play
Layin The Smackdown
Choices
Paul vol.16 (re-released)
Chronicles of the Juiceman
Da Headbussaz
Da Unbreakables
1st two Frayser Boy albums
Choices II had some hard beats too...this shyt here
They fell off on Most Known Unknowns...never liked that album
What they really lost with Lil Pat was that crisp ass sound quality they had on their shyt from 98-2000 (although they still had excellent mastering) the sound quality on Tear Da Club Up Thugs, Body Parts & When The Smoke Clears is just![]()
