When it's actually the other way around.
Of course Chris Rock started that way of thinking with his joke but a lot of people run with it. Just saw Star mention it in his video he did about Keefe's arrest.
They have now officially arrested a suspect who is believed to have been in concert with three other men in order to find and kill 2pac. That's an actual murder plot, with Keefe allegedly handing the gun to the shooter and a third person driving the car to pull it off.
JFK and RFK both got shot by lone gunmen who were just frustrated with their lives and decided to shoot the big time politician in town. They are the ones who "just got shot". Wasn't no help or plot involved.
I know a lot of people believe Oswald wasn't the (lone) shooter but the official account is that he was (and I believe it's correct but this thread ain't about that). Take a look at the PBS documentary in the spoiler that makes a good case for this. People find it hard to wrap their mind around that the most powerful man in the world could get shot like that out of nowhere by some nobody. But that's what happened. JFK "just" got shot by some disgruntled weird loner. Wasn't any grand conspiracy or deeper meaning behind it.
RFK ran his mouth about supporting Israel against Palestine and it got him killed. That's according to the man who shot him and has been convicted for the murder. I know there's all sorts of conspiracy theories there too about MK Ultra and all that, but the official, accepted account is it was just him and he did it for the reasons he described. Again, see the video in the spoiler. Wasn't no grand conspiracy, RFK "just" got shot.
Chris Rock made this whole thing about how the speculation and wild theories about 2pac's murder were misplaced and that it was all wrong to use the word "assassinate" for someone like him and that those presidents (and candidates) were truly "assassinated".
As much as it may have worked as a joke, there is just no good reason to make that distinction. Don't get me wrong, some people truly are assassinated for political reasons but people acting like the JFK and RFK murders were of a " higher" order of some sort are just flatout ignorant.
Ironically, it points to that low self-esteem and lack of confidence that Pac was talking about with his Killuminati concept. As if these politicians and white institutions are more important than everyday realities faced by black men in the hood. That's some inferiority complex sh*t to make out like RFK's murder was worse or more important than 2pac's just because he was a politician involved in worldly affairs. That kind of ingrained deferential thinking is what 2pac was trying to dead.
RFK got shot for running his mouth, according to his killer. JFK was just a figurehead for Oswald to take his frustration out on. Those boys got shot. Nobody knew in advance it was gonna happen except for the lone killer.
2pac was taken out by a group of people. Yes, the beating at the MGM most likely was the immediate cause but it was still a retaliatory plot that took at least three men coordinating and contributing some part to the murder. They all knew what was about to happen. Same can be said for the Malcolm X murder. MLK's case is more difficult to say for sure. But the Kennedys and Pac cases were all unfortunate circumstances that could've easily turned out different for various reasons. They are not fundamentally different kind of murders.
All of them "got shot".
