Can we put to rest this c00nish notion that JFK and RFK got "assassinated" but 2pac "just got shot"?

Your right on the money, but the world isnt full of thinkers.

Its an assasination because theres conspiracy involved. Theres more theories, angles, twist and suspects with Pacs murder than JFKs.

Doesnt matter if the conspiracy actually took place. You only need the illusion of a conspiracy for it to be deemed an assasination:respect:

When it's actually the other way around. :yeshrug:

Of course Chris Rock started that way of thinking with his joke but a lot of people run with it. Just saw Star mention it in his video he did about Keefe's arrest.

They have now officially arrested a suspect who is believed to have been in concert with three other men in order to find and kill 2pac. That's an actual murder plot, with Keefe allegedly handing the gun to the shooter and a third person driving the car to pull it off.

JFK and RFK both got shot by lone gunmen who were just frustrated with their lives and decided to shoot the big time politician in town. They are the ones who "just got shot". Wasn't no help or plot involved.

I know a lot of people believe Oswald wasn't the (lone) shooter but the official account is that he was (and I believe it's correct but this thread ain't about that). Take a look at the PBS documentary in the spoiler that makes a good case for this. People find it hard to wrap their mind around that the most powerful man in the world could get shot like that out of nowhere by some nobody. But that's what happened. JFK "just" got shot by some disgruntled weird loner. Wasn't any grand conspiracy or deeper meaning behind it.

RFK ran his mouth about supporting Israel against Palestine and it got him killed. That's according to the man who shot him and has been convicted for the murder. I know there's all sorts of conspiracy theories there too about MK Ultra and all that, but the official, accepted account is it was just him and he did it for the reasons he described. Again, see the video in the spoiler. Wasn't no grand conspiracy, RFK "just" got shot.

Chris Rock made this whole thing about how the speculation and wild theories about 2pac's murder were misplaced and that it was all wrong to use the word "assassinate" for someone like him and that those presidents (and candidates) were truly "assassinated".

As much as it may have worked as a joke, there is just no good reason to make that distinction. Don't get me wrong, some people truly are assassinated for political reasons but people acting like the JFK and RFK murders were of a " higher" order of some sort are just flatout ignorant.

Ironically, it points to that low self-esteem and lack of confidence that Pac was talking about with his Killuminati concept. As if these politicians and white institutions are more important than everyday realities faced by black men in the hood. That's some inferiority complex sh*t to make out like RFK's murder was worse or more important than 2pac's just because he was a politician involved in worldly affairs. That kind of ingrained deferential thinking is what 2pac was trying to dead.

RFK got shot for running his mouth, according to his killer. JFK was just a figurehead for Oswald to take his frustration out on. Those boys got shot. Nobody knew in advance it was gonna happen except for the lone killer.

2pac was taken out by a group of people. Yes, the beating at the MGM most likely was the immediate cause but it was still a retaliatory plot that took at least three men coordinating and contributing some part to the murder. They all knew what was about to happen. Same can be said for the Malcolm X murder. MLK's case is more difficult to say for sure. But the Kennedys and Pac cases were all unfortunate circumstances that could've easily turned out different for various reasons. They are not fundamentally different kind of murders.

All of them "got shot"

Assassination is murder for political or religious reasons.

The definition is pretty clear, so at this stage you are trying to redefine the actual meaning of the word.

Let it go breh.

You sure about that breh? :sas2:

Mark David Chapman and the assassination of John Lennon

You're making my case for me. But also, JFK murder wasn't politically motivated either.

And if we're gonna talk about semantics, we also gotta point out that the word is often used in relation to plots by multiple people working together to carry out the murder. Out of JFK, RFK, John Lennon and Tupac, Tupac's murder is the only one that has that component.
Breh, the person writing the story is using the word incorrectly.

Knowing what I know about Chris Rock now. It all makes sense that he was a go along to get along self depreciating Sambo. It sounds bitter but it's an accurate assessment looking back on his body of work. There have been signs since the beginning of his career. But back then when you was a kid you didn't concern yourself with shyt like who's a c00n or not. shyt was all jokes.

Back in 08 I had to check a white bytch i worked with and shut her down because she was ramping up with her dialogue tambout "it's so true what he said about there being a war between black people and well...you know". bytch got too familiar and I deaded it fullstop.

He gives insights into the black experience in a way that's palatable to . cacs
Crazy thing is I don't believe he's truly malicious or aware of how this shyt comes off because he's been in Hollywood so long. Either way. The nikka has c00n tendencies.

Assassination is murder for political or religious reasons.

The definition is pretty clear, so at this stage you are trying to redefine the actual meaning of the word.

Let it go breh.

Breh, the person writing the story is using the word incorrectly.

“assassinate” has a VERY specific definition…there’s absolutely nothing to debate…nothing.

I kno u in pain realizing u typed multiple paragraphs cuz u ain’t kno a word’s definition
Two points:

1. Y'all wrong about what the definition is. First of all there is no one definition. Cambridge has:

to murder a famous or important person, esp. for political reasons or in exchange for money
"especially", but not exclusively for political reasons. I already showed how other famous non political people's murders are described as assassinations too. There are plenty more examples, because " the definition" does cover those situations. In the JFK and RFK murders there was also no money involved and in 2pac's case the shotcaller claims there was.

American Heritage Dictionary:
1. To murder (a prominent person) by surprise attack, as for political reasons.
2. To destroy or injure treacherously.
3. To kill by surprise or secret assault; to murder by treacherous violence.
Same story. Not necessarily political. I could go on with more definitions but the point is clear. Words like this are rarely used according to their strict definition anyway. If we go back even further into the history of the word it actually derives from an Arabic word for the word 'hash' from people who would get intoxicated before taking out prominent people. 2pac's killer said that's literally what they did right before the murder: get intoxicated.

2. The JFK murder WASN'T politically motivated. It was just one guy (who did have minority political views) who killed a famous person out of personal frustration. He had no political goal to achieve with it. So according to y'all own strict adherence to your definition, you should acknowledge that JFK wasn't assassinated. He was just a politician who happened to get shot.

RFK's killer did get pissed off over one of RFK's political views/proposed policies but it was again also a case of personal frustration. To be fair, I guess this one technically does fit y'all strict definition although there was no plot or conspiracy as y'all said which is usually also meant when used in political contexts.

I think we can conclude that y'all are struck by the JFK mythology, hold some odd unarticulated conspiracy views about the meaning behind his murder and/or aren't ready yet to confront that deep seated insecurity about the differences in status between white politicians and black rappers.

Now I see why y'all get so caught up in these frivolous political culture wars on Twitter. :francis:
Y'all implicitly value politicians' lives more than you do black people from the culture. Worst of all, y'all believe you don't even need to defend or articulate your contrasting view about an egalitarian order of lives. They taught y'all well. :mjpls:

JFK got [Chris Rock]SHOT.[/Chris Rock]
