Can we talk about Bradley Beal being a bum?

The reason he's averaging only 22 PPG is because Kuzma and Porzingis are taking up more usage. He actually isn't playing third option because the team isn't better without him. Wes Unseld Jr. needs him on the floor if he wants an efficient offense.
Are you going to give KP a 4 year 140m contract?

If he opts out, he’ll sign a 3 year deal for less than $100M with a player option.

It’s the Wizards, they’ll happily overpay. Even if KP is so matchup dependent..

He’ll drop 40 on bigs like Gobert

But score 20 on bad shooting against the mobile bigs like Bam.

Washington always give guys like Gilbert, Wall and Beale big bags even tho these nikkas will never get a team to at least the conference finals, it’s just good enough to keep fans entertained , maybe a first round series win.. but they know they don’t have Kobe, Durant in their franchise

He's ALWAYS been a complimentary piece thats the problem in the NBA

They keep overpaying these complimentary pieces max and super max money then they wanna complain
Unfortunately, that's the going rate for those type of players these days. The league is flush with cash and no one to spend it on, so decent players are going to get overpaid even if they don't deserve it. Just wait until the cap spikes again and the problem will become even worse.

Hopefully. I know he'd want to play with Tatum or someone else. The good thing about his expensive ass salary is that the compensation back has to match that salary and I think the sum of the compensation back will be greater than what he brings.

Don't get me wrong I love Beal. But it was working when he was on a different salary scale and was undervalued as such and we could still have him, Wall, Nene, gortat, ariza. But it got to a point we couldn't have Wall and Beal together cause of salary. They were better but at that point hurt more and there was less we could do with the salary cap.

Now this salary. He got his bag but I'm not gonna be happy that the team is hamstrung because of one player who cant carry the team anyway. I look around and the other shooting guards who have about his reputation like Klay, Harden, Booker, Jimmy Butler, Jaylen Brown, Derozen have had conference leading teams or been to the finals.

I give Brad a ton of credit for maxing out his own abilities. In the history of the Bullets/Wiz, it is pretty stunning actually.

No one on this board, no Wizard fan, would have believed you if you said in 2015 that Brad would became an elite scorer off the bounce considering he was just a catch and shoot guy hitting nearly 40% of his 3s.

And to a major extent, the reason why the Wizards aren't conference contenders or a perennial playoff team is because of management. From Ernie to Tommy. Not even paying Brad. Cause as you mentioned, Jimmy Butler is making comparable money but Miami hit on their picks (Bam and Herro) and found role players undrafted like Strus.

If you can't draft, you're already at a huge disadvantage.

If you can't make sound free agent signings, you're compounding the problem.

They've been decent on trades but that's been them cleaning up their own messes.

Drafting Jan Vesley set the franchise back 10 years :russ:

Yup. I knew it at the time.

I was coming home from my internship, got off the metro, went to my car, WTOP was on, and the draft was in two hours. They said the entire Czech Embassy was at Capital One Arena (Verizon Center).

I literally yelled in the car "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and hoped Cleveland would have taken Jan after taking Kyrie at pick #4 or #5 or whatever it was.

I don't think Beal is garbage, just severely overpaid, If Beal was traded to a team like the LAL, Milwaukee, Brooklyn, Philly, or Denver people would go from calling him garbage to crying about it being unfair........23p/5a/3r on 53/35/86 shooting in not bad.....You add Beal to Lebron/AD, Jokic/Murray, Embiid/Harden, KD/Kyrie, Giannis/Middleton...and people would catch feelings real fast.

If Beal was making 30-35m over the next 5 yrs no one would be complaining

It is bad when you’re getting paid 45 million dollars. It’s terrible really because hes paid that to be a #1 option and at the very least have your team in playoff contention.

He has solid enough pieces in KP and Kuzma and he’s playing third fiddle to them. They haven’t won more than 35 games in the last 5 years bruh. It’s really bad and the future is even more bleak as Beal ages and is making 50+ million dollars

:mjlol: @ add Beal to any of those players. You do realize he makes more than all of them except Jokic? It would never happen and he’d be a third option making 52 million dollars a year

Beal making more than any of those players is irrelevant...The Clippers, Nets and Warriors had luxury tax bills over 100m last season....Do you think a team like Philly, Denver, Milwaukee or BK would give a shyt about Beal being overpaid if they could win a championship or get to the finals?.....The NBA is about to sign another huge TV deal. Beal's 50m per year is going to look like a bargain in 3-4 years.
