Eminem is SIGNIFICANTLY better than all those rappers. Nobody denies that. The assertion has never been that any old CaC with a mic would do numbers.

Em is the white rapper Amerikka's been waiting for since they hopped on the hip hop bandwagon. They will forever inflate his sales.

first of all, I don't even like eminem that much over all. he's talented but last album i liked from him was MMLP.. Rest is kinda whiny and i don't like his production.

As far as the OP, I'm sure out of the millions Kanye sold, some only listen to Kanye, same for Kast, same for Nelly, same for the Fugees, same for Pac. But i'll agree that the phenomenon might be more prevalent with Eminem.

I was talking to my white roommate and he was talking about going buy the new eminem CD when it comes out and I was like never heard you listen to anything besides country what other rappers do you like and he copped pleas trying to name songs but legitimately couldn't even name another rapper so in my head I was like I know whats going on here. Well, let's take Paul Wall...white people look at Paul Wall and say "Man this is a little chubby white dude married to a black woman who sells gold teeth in the hood, I can't relate to this dude, why would I buy his album?"

Then, let's take Bubba Sparxxx...white people look at him and say "Man this is an overweight dude from the country who was once rolling around in a pig pen saying it can get ugly...I can't relate to that, why would I buy his album"
