Can we talk about how terrible The Matrix 4 was?

Movie was awful and I think if this was a theaters only release, the 2nd week decline in ticket sales would be sharp due to word of mouth.
The jump cut action scenes were horrible.
The new characters were boring.
The agents were useless (they were feared in the first movie).

I'd rather a new V for Vendetta over this

Really wanted to like this. Made it about halfway before I tapped out. :francis: Even the choreography was pedestrian. Easily the worst in the series. This one was just flat out boring, which is worse than just being outright bad. So disappointing.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Yeah I don't get this revisionist "the sequels sucked" talk. People weren't actling like that when they were out. And to me none of them were great movies, but they were enjoyable.
Yes the fukk they were... That final battle with them just flying around crashing into each other... The second one's confusing ass story (to some) and the ending of "hey you been here, we keep doing this"... Then the third with the copy cat smith shyt...

The first one was always spoken as the best and then the other two was just ok to good movies.. It's not like Terminator or Aliens where the sequel was on par or better to most.. It wasn't even close. Go back and look at what people were saying at the time.

The 2nd one was based on software engineering. There's something called iterative development where you keep tweaking a design and retesting it. The Matrix is basically an unknown number of rebooted virtual reality worlds. All the repeat references are from earlier versions of the Matrix that get rebooted.

Remember when the Oracle says Neo isn't "The One"? That's because he isn't quite ready to completely destroy the Matrix yet in the current version. IMO the reboot should have been with all new characters.

See a couple people from Sense8 in this movie, almost like Lana used it as an excuse to get them some work lol

The notion that Warner was gonna put out a Matrix 4 with or without their involvement means there is bound to be satire/trolling.
It's a complete lie, that WB thing..

According to Lana Wachowski, her decision to bring back Neo and Trinity for the sequel was inspired by the loss of both of her parents (who died only five weeks apart), and a close friend. The writing process was her way of comforting herself in the face of death. She also defines Neo and Trinity as the two most important characters in her life. For Lilly Wachowski, however, this sense of loss was part of her decision to NOT return to the series. In her own words: "I didn't want to have gone through my transition and gone through this massive upheaval in my life, the sense of loss from my mom and dad, to want to go back to something that I had done before."

Also, here's why the action was so terrible....

Unlike the first two sequels, no second unit was used for any of the action sequences, as Lana Wachowski directed all the scenes herself.
