Is there “so much interest?” I don’t believe so. No one was clamoring for another Matrix. Even if there was, that could just mean that people wanted to give it another shot to finally have a decent sequel. Doesn’t mean the prior ones were great. Yeah, people will watch it. It’s incredibly easy to get access to in todays age and people will watch it for the perceived nostalgia it could induce. The Matrix brand will get interest just off the name, not necessarily the film. Neither of those reasons have anything to do with actual movie itself. There was enough interest in Power Rangers to make a big budget film just a year or so ago. That’s not saying much. If a studio could film a burning trash can and check a bag, they would. A film being made means nothing these days.
