Tory need to stop wit that southern accent
So does Drake and every other Canadian artist.
When Canadians use their real accents, they get rejected like Smiley

You won't hear pressa's voice without autotune or it's :camby:

Yoooo

Smiley actually rapping in his Canadian accent kinda exposes Drake when they rap on the same track.

I get it tho..Americans can be very resistant to anything different (they haven’t fully embraced UK drill because of the accents)

So I see why many Canadian rappers mimick US accents.:yeshrug:

It's not about being resistant to anything different, those artists just sound super white. LIKE DONALD GLOVER. Was the American populous checking for "3005"? Did you hear how he sounded? That's how Canadians sound. Just add a lil "ms cleo".
They have to mimic our accents because we don't sound like we just moved to whiteville yesterday. We 'have our own".
London and Toronto are a hundred years behind developing something like AAVE, and the "patois flavaz" ain't going to get them over.

This is why I don't argue music with nikkas on here, lol. Ya'll don't be educated enough on music from other regions and proof could be looking ya'll smack dab in the face but ya'll will deny the shyt just to win a debate. The song is literally called "On The Floor" bruh. It's his track. Payroll and Icewear is just features.

Bruh how many rappers have made it to the mainstream from Kentucky? Other than fukking Jack Harlow and Bryson Tiller (and he not even a rapper)

What DOES a Kentucky rapper sound like? Maybe he sounds like EST GEE… you know a nikka that’s not exactly from the South but not exactly from the North either but more Midwest. He don’t rap anything like nikkas from Detroit except he linked up wit some nikkas from Detroit and used some of they producers. That don’t mean he trying to SOUND like a Detroit nikka.

Hell even Detroit rappers all be sounding different. I wouldn’t say there’s a DISTINCT Detroit rapper sound. Do 42 Dugg / Icewear / Babyface Ray / GT / Sada Baby ect sound the same to you? shyt I could even throw in Payroll / Boldy / Danny Brown - all them nikkas sound different and is what is truly unique about Detroit but to pack EST GEE in that box, you wrong nikka.

I get what you saying but don’t fully agree.

Black folks in Canada and the UK both have distinct slang and accents they use. Most Americans can’t tell the difference tho so it all sounds the same to us.

But as an American breh living in Canada I started to pick up on it and can tell where a breh is from just by hearing him speak.

if you want to classify it as “sounding white” go ahead.

I will agree, that AAVE is MUCH more distinct and defined tho

Their distinct slang is only 40 years old and a lot of it is based on our slang.
400 > A 40 heavily influenced by us.
We influenced the culture they brought over there in the first place. why listen to nikkas repeating our shyt in a "different" accent?

Black Nova Scotians have the only "distinct" black accent.
Jamaican Montreal nikkas and Toronto nikkas that speak english SOUND EXACTLY THE SAME.
If one of them moves to Alberta, he will sound the same.
"I can tell where they're from" Bro they only have like 4 options

Nah it's the bay area and no, San Francisco is not a suburb of Oakland, Oakland is not a suburb of San Francisco. Both are the BAY AREA.
Brampton is literally a Suburb of Toronto like Missisauga.
Aka "part of Toronto".
Them nikkas don't have a separate identity, don't have a separate look, and when y'all bring up "all indians" like anywhere in Canada isn't indian'd out.
:mjlol:
Like how "Robbins, Illinois" is still "Part of Chicago", BRAMPTON is in the GTA metro area.
Can you take the subway to Brampton? It’s in Peel Region, west of Toronto, it’s like saying Buffalo is in New York City.

Toronto slang is derivative of Jamaican Patois, it doesn't sound like American slang at all.
