Combat was bad from what I remember. Just never interest me much after a few hours. Just me but I wish I could play with someone my complexion or even see another npc but I get it it with the storylore

To add, as I mentioned before, this isn't Arkham combat, you're not going to be jumping over enemies and stunning them to build combo's. This is tit for tat. You dodge, parry, and expose the weakness of the enemies you're fighting. Utilize your spells (signs) and research what does the most dmg to what. Fire effects everything but golems the same way, however there are creatures that will literally flee or become frightened by fire. Humans can be stunned/mind controlled with Axii, and so forth.
The combat isn't about tapping one button in hopes you'll break through and eventually kill said enemy. If you suck at combat in; the souls series, or anything like it, you're not gonna have a great time with the Witcher 3's combat, and that's fine, they thought of that...put it on easy and enjoy the story. From a previous post; I honestly would like to see a video of some people on here fighting in game, if I'm to take that complaint seriously. After that Polygon playthrough of Doom I'm not taking anyone seriously anymore.

Is the combat better than Pre-Assassin's Creed Origins/Odyssey?Maybe you aren't feeling the weakest aspect of the game which is the shallow combat?
Great game but there's no denying the combat system was lacking
I don't know if it's because of the boredom of social distance or the traumatic experience of my most anticipated game TLOU2 getting delayed indefinitely 
but I gave TW3 another shot and it's finally clicking with me.

I’m not sure what there is to click. Against humans, it’s basically use some signs at your preference and then try to parry their attack and counter attack. Then against monsters it’s similar but you’re better off looking up in the bestiary to see what each ones weakness is so that you can exploit it

I like the game a lot now but despite my overall change of opinion, the combat animation is still incredibly weak and the combat overall is relatively shallow. Most if not all fights play out exactly the same. It’s not the end of the world, but I don’t agree with the high praise this game gets for its combat. The story is what I find above a lot of other games.

So here's my take on why people like this. You know how some people REALLY like star wars. The witcher is something like that to people and it's not because it was known as great. It just passes the eye test to people who gravitate to things like game of thrones, dungeons and dragons, middle earth, toby Keith and inline dancing. Those last two, even if not true today, once tomorrow comes around these nikkaz will be wearing make America great again hats. Long story short, i wouldn't trust any black man that plays this shyt, can't trust em
