Can you imagine this version of Kobe in today's NBA?

2002-03 Kobe would average 40/10/10 if he played in a pick n roll system like James Harden where he has the ball every possession and is surrounded by 3-point shooters.

Kobe averaged 30/7/6 in 2002-03. And that was while playing in the triangle offense (which is notorious for low individual assists totals) and played during the era of slow pace and better defense.

Put prime Kobe in this wack era of up and down 3-point shooting basketball with zero defense and he would have put up numbers that put Harden and Westbrook to shame.
You talk as if Kobe retired 20 years ago :what:

He had two scoring titles in twenty seasons. The guys who were outscoring him for those titles are still playing and aren't scoring 40 ppg. shyt doesn't add up.

Might as well be. What we are watching right now in the NBA is not the same sport Kobe was playing in 2002-03 when he was at his peak.

Go back and watch games from the early 2000s when real basketball was being played. Then go watch the garbage we witnessed last night in the finals.

It doesn't even look like the same sport anymore.

nikkas can't even score now without a damn pick being set :mjlol:

Kobe would chew these nikkas up man.

This is why all the players respect Kobe and give him his due as the best player since Jordan. They know all these other guys need picks to get off. Kobe was the last of a dying breed when it came to pure one on one scoring.

Kyrie is honestly the only guy in the finals who can score without needing a pick.

Basketball stylistically changes every 10 years primarily due to rule changes, but the early 00 wasn't a better period of basketball the east was completely trash and ISO ball took away from team ball, regardless that's still my favorite era
Cwebb, the franchise, tmac, Kobe, kg, kidd, ai, Vince, j O'Neal, Big Ben and frobe made me love basketball :mjcry:

Iso ball is basketball at its purest form. One on one.

What we see now is a joke. All these zone defenses are allowing dudes who can't play defense like Steph Curry to stay on the floor. Back in the 90s/early 2000s, a guy like Steph wouldn't even see the floor. His defense when guys isolate him would make him too much of a liability. He would be Steve Kerr status. A speciality player brought in every now and then.

Pippen
Kobe
Bird
Malone
Shaq

Kobe would cancel out MJ. Pippen would lock down LeBron. KD would take it to Bird. Malone would own KG. Shaq and Hakeem would draw.

This would be a pretty even matchup. Though Durant might be your trump card.

breh, I swear most of Harden and Curry points comes from picks. That is really sad.

Carter, Pierce, Wade McGrady and Ray in their primes would all be ahead of guys like Harden, Westbrook, Leonard, Curry, and every other current perimeter all star. The talent gap between these two groups are just too steep.:hhh:

Only Lebron and KD would be better with prime Kobe being by far ahead of them
