The anti-intellectualism in my country these days (which Trump exemplifies, but was apparent long before he came into office) is something that I legit find sad.
If a US president said anything remotely like that he'd be called an out of touch liberal who doesn't know about the "real" America or something.

Its a shame you think that has anything to do with what you just witnessed.
There are ppl, including journalists and others that claim that speech was a setup. It was a "performance " to make him come off smarter than he really is. Most ppl in Canada don't look at him as some smart guy. Not stupid, but not an intellectual by any means.
Other videos show him asking journalists to ask him that specific question so he can rhyme off his rehearsed lines. Notice how he didn't use his normal speech patterns? No ums or hmmm? Because it wasn't coming off the top,of his head like that.
Again, hes an actor.
What I find even more dispicable is that the conservative/republican types are always the ones saying the black community is "anti intellectual" and blaming that on the systemic failures of the American educational system.
Yet they elect absolute dummies and prefer their candidates that way
