Who told you that gender and sex are separate?
If you read into the distinctions yourself it's pretty clear.
Gender:
the state of being male or female (typically used with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones).
Sex:
either of the two main categories (male and female) into which humans and most other living things are divided on the basis of their reproductive functions.
It's very possible for a person to be one sex and identify with a different gender, this is because gender is pretty much shaped by culture.
When we're talking about gender we're usually referring to abstract things like masculinity and femininity which vary from culture to culture and have changed throughout history.
Sure, we probably hold our own notions of what it means to be a man and masculine, but that's largely as a result of nurture rather than nature.
If a woman chooses to identify as the 'male gender' it doesn't make that woman more or less right than a woman who identifies as the female gender.
It bothers me because there's an obvious agenda to normalize fukkery that is detrimental to my community especially. The whole trans thing doesn't even make sense. On one hand these people are saying that gender is just a social construct, but on the other hand they directly contradict that by giving credence to the idea that some people are born in the "wrong body". If you can be born a male who feels like a girl/woman inside, then how is gender just a social construct?
You're not being compassionate either. True compassion would be getting these obviously mentally and emotionally ill people mental and emotional help. I honestly think that people like are just sheep who go with herd/flow because that's just how you're wired. You still haven't given a reason for why you support you probably don't even believe in.
Just because its a social construct doesn't mean it doesn't have real world implications on how people perceive themselves.
Race is also a social construct yet it has very real implications in society.
That's why you have a lot of transgendered people.
They've been conditioned to believe that men and women are specifically X or Y.
Well then, if you have a society in which men are supposed to be X or and are supposed to be Y, you will almost certainly have people transgendered people.
How exactly is allowing people to identify as whichever gender they choose harmful to society?
I don't see you making any sort of convincing argument.
