I don't want to get into the who would win debate now but comparing the two Canelo wins it's clear as day Bud's is the more impressive.
A better (green version years before his prime vs slightly past prime version) and bigger Canelo than the one Floyd fought. Also while Floyd could resort to A side shaenigans (catch weight) Bud had to deal with Canelo at Canelo's terms all that while jumping up 2 divisions.
Even if Floyd was never a big 147er let alone 154er the circumstances make Bud's win more impressive. I would say more impressive than any Floyd win too. Floyd's resume is still deeper though

why are they even being compared? The nuances are not the same just enjoy the shyt lol.

All things considered we can say Canelos Prime ended at the Plant Fight 4 years ago. So neither Bud or Floyd "fought prime Canelo". But Canelo is an ATG so outside of his prime he is still better than 95% of active fighters so the Win should still be appreciated.

Dude is at like 70 fights with 3 loses.

Was Floyd in his prime???

They are 13 years old apart. Was Floyd supposed to wait till his 40s to fight Canelo?? :mjlol:

the fact is both Floyd and Bud were past their primes even if slightly when they fought Canelo. Canelo lost to a 37 year old Floyd and a 37 year old Crawford. the point is, even if Canelo is in his prime, if he faces them in their primes he still loses. this is boxing. either you win or you lose. people saying Canelo was before his prime against Floyd and after his prime against Bud is just bullshyt excuses.

Canelo Alvarez was 23 years old with 43 professional fights when he lost to Floyd Mayweather (who was 45-0 )and out of his prime at the age of 36.......yet somehow Canelo was too young and inexperienced. Meanwhile at 21 years old, Mike Tyson beat the crap out of Larry Holmes. The spin is amazing.
Right Salvador Sanchez was 23 when he died, and is considered the GOAT Mexican fighter by many. Aging boxers chronologically doesn't work

Even the translation is not accurate. Floyd's win over him is still more impressive. Floyd really toyed with him the whole fight
I see your point don't get me wrong but the weight class thing is also a factor. I think if Crawford would have fought Canelo back then at whatever weight class he fought floyd, Crawford would have toyed with him as well. I won't definitely say one is more impressive than the other but I'd say it's at least a discussion...

I don't agree with the notion that Canelo doesn't deserve the "inexperienced" excuse just because he was #1 and had 40 fights.

He was VERY noticeably better after that Floyd fight.

That said, he'd sauced regardless:mjlol:.
