there's actually no reason that a small private school should have more accolades or have a winning record vs 2 state schools with far bigger enrollments, far more alumni, far more money...but here we are. even after Miami's decade of being down, Miami STILL leads in all categories.

put together the all time Hurricanes team, and they beat the all time seminoles and all time gators

rank the best teams of a time out of the schools and Miami comes out on top of that as well

I came in here expecting some all out war for the state but it's a little too mild for my liking:yeayea:

Because it's pretty much inarguable. The numbers don't lie. 5 > 3, and Miami has done it with a foothold in pop culture (which is what happens when a school is in an urban center versus a college town and is successful, look what being a de facto Chicago school does for Notre Dame ). You can argue night and day about who is #2 between FSU and UF, but all non-Gator fans would say FSU #2 if only because FSU never made excuses about scheduling Miami, and didn't veto them joining their conference

Gators refusing to schedule Miami every year is reason alone for them to be #3.

Of course, hilariously, when it comes to fanbase in the state numbers wise, it's FSU/UF neck and neck and Miami a distant third.
