ok I actually read the last 2 slides…this is overkill just to prove a gun possession charge…I thought they were actually connecting bodies to this idiot…this is more so theatrics
Thats all it usually is. No one is bothered by them using lyrics if its detailing an actual crime that they are under investigation for, committed and spoke about. But what they actually are doing is using lyrics that have nothing to do with anything they are investigated for and have no way to authenticate the occurrence of being real or corroborate any connection of it. This is what people that believe lyrics shouldnt be allowed to use as evidence mean. These other people that think they should are being obtuse on how this will actually be used.

Thats like getting arrested for driving on a suspended license because the state saw you rapping "Smokin' while I'm drivin' that's with no L's, nikka" as actual evidence. (not exactly but you get it)

I’m indifferent to lyrics being used in court if it’s in connection to the crimes being tried but using music videos and social media as evidence to connect someone to a gun possession charge is very muddy waters :francis:

:gucci: the muhfukka has bar after bar about Black men that were seriously murdered and you're talking about cacs

Black men that we're gang members. I don't conflate all black men with gang members. If he was talking about killing black men that we're civilians I would have a problem. That is the life they signed up for.

So they didn't sign up for the risk of going to prison? :martin: the fukk are you even talking about. One minute we're rooting for racist cacs going after Black men, the next it's "not all black men"

This will be used to harm all black men just like the crime bill. Black people are the only people who cheer their own mistreatment.

But somehow a small minority of Black men that perpetuate anti-Black stereotypes by way of glamorizing gang culture, promoting death and dysfunction won't be used to harm all Black men.

:francis:

Too many of you try to have it both ways. You want to enjoy anti-Black propaganda when called on it, you want to have a nuanced discussion about gang culture and that the deaths have nothing to do with race and when the conversation shifts you readily acknowledge that the nuance doesn't really matter which is how innocent Black people will be caught up.

The non-Black people that show up to jury duty in cases like this won't have your same "boots on the ground" perspective about gang culture when they're being tasked with deciding a Black man's fate, they will make NO DISTINCTION between Black culture and gang culture.

This is precisely why even though the artists may not intend to make anti-Black content, when it's packaged and served up to the masses, the final product is still anti-Black.

That's not what I'm doing but I get the sense that you already understand this. Black individuals have allowed themselves to be used against the larger group in exchange for trinkets long before drill rap. Blacksploitation is an example of that.

The anti-Black content these rappers are creating is some of the most widely listened to and popular music of the day and the largest consumers of this anti-Black content are white people. When those white people have to show up for jury duty in a case where an innocent Black man is accused of murdering someone, do you think it helps or hurts that some of the most wide reaching imagery of Black men in media is explicitly linked to criminality?

It doesn't matter what we do it will always been spun as negative. Black people who attend I've league schools are looked down on and accomplishments see seen as only because affirmative action. Any black person who lives their lives worrying about what cacs will think or act see playing a fools errand.

White people will always look at us negatively and never give us the benefit of the doubt. That is their problem with their sickness of white supremacy. Black people were getting hung and railroaded in court when we only sing gospel and wore suits.

Black people can do a better job of controlling our image in the media, just like Jewish community does, that's a group that clearly understands what happens after the propaganda reduces a group of people to sub-human status. We should also know how inherently dangerous it is for the most widely consumed Black media to be anti-Black but for some odd reason we keep making excuses and deflecting.
