Without capitalism the transatlantic slave trade doesn’t happen.

I think it’s a major component of racism.

This doesn’t make sense because racism was devised as a social construct during the Renaissance

also Romans, had mostly white slaves

The modern concept of 'race' that is used to propagate racism was devised during the Enlightenment, not the Renaissance. The Romans didn't have 'White' slaves because there was no 'White race' until the 17th Century unless one was referring to European nobility.......

Its amazing that people actually believe things like this.:ohhh:
Where this idea that cacs(or any race) under another system wouldnt hate, enslave, or oppress blacks comes from boggles the mind...

This thread is full of people trying to tie slavery, which predates all modern economic systems and occurred all over the world in nearly every culture with American capitalism.
shyts wild.

The idea that racism can be connected to capitalism has been around for a long time; the question is how the connection works, and whether the two are inextricable. Martin Luther King, Jr., in his great speech on the steps of the Alabama statehouse at the conclusion of the Selma-to-Montgomery march, in 1965, said, “The segregation of the races was really a political stratagem employed by the emerging Bourbon interests in the South to keep the southern masses divided and southern labor the cheapest in the land.” (I was writing an essay on this topic using some help of https://www.tоpwritersreview.com/reviews/bestessayhelp/). King was at that moment pushing for the passage of the Voting Rights Act and other civil-rights legislation, so he had a reason to locate the nexus of race and capitalism specifically in the Southern Jim Crow system.

If capitalism is not the root and support system of racism then can someone explain to m3 how cacs currently run the planet and every major institution? How did cacs keep almost every race under their foot for the last few hundred years?

If I was a cac and the answer is not capitalism then I can think only one other thing

Africans were sold to feudalistic plantation owners in the name of making money:francis:

A civil war was fought in which up to a million lives were lost in the name of making money:francis:

Jim Crow laws were passed to imprison and heavily fine black people in the name of making money:francis:

Black people were systematically killed to get rid of competition in the name of making money :francis:

Police are called to ritzy stores to keep poor Black folks from visiting in the name of making money:francis:

The very fact America doesn't have universal healthcare, free or low cost college, good maternity/paternity systems, higher minimum wage, more vacation time in the name of making money :francis:

this BS economic system dd not just ruin the United States but it also hugely affected much of the world. Just look at the hacienda system in Latin America and colonialism in Africa and Asia and the extermination of idigenous peoples all over:francis:

If you are a POC and a full blown capitalist, in my opinion, you are a c00n:hhh:
Capitalism appeals to human nature . And it’s in human nature to get all the advantages it can get to come out ahead. Racism give advantage to one particular group. Capitalism is a great enabler :yeshrug:

You probably want to say that Capitalism keeps racism alive. But it’s not the root. People are.

Capitalism is the root of something that predates it? and occurs in its absence...:russ: You need to stop.

Ok but what is racism without capitalism. Racism without capitalism to enforce it just comes off as hate. Look at how prejudiced people are to white jews, yet since they own so much capital the racism against them mainly manifests in people saying hurtful things and not effecting your material conditions. People do say hurtful things about many qualities of people and they dont always mean you have a harder/worse life.

Also current understandings of race did not pre date capitalism
