You have to understand: capitalism is a type of religion. It's taken the place of conventional religion and has even infected it and used it as a puppet to achieve its own goals(see megachurches and Mormon movements or the protestant work ethic)

It’s about the survival of the fittest but the fittest is the most crooked, whitest, and/or most connected. It’s so unfair but the game is the game.

Personally, I think mixed economies that tend to provide a semblance of a balance that isn’t lopsided are the best. Not saying they’re perfect - at least they tend to give more people a chance.

I think op is talking about more about the neoliberal / capitalist worldview if u work hard enough you'll make it aka be an entrepreneur,self made millionaire. And if u do certain steps, hustle hard and don't sleep I'll be like the 2 percent that make millions/ well off from their small business etc.

In reality, most will only ever be wage slaves, some will earn slightly more but still dependent on a paycheck from the owners of production etc.. and we know that the one's who make the business tick really don't make what they should.

The media and the general western ideology has made folks believe that they can make " it's with just more effort or more schooling. But in reality ,on average folks just earn to spend and show an apparence of making it and giving the money straight back.
