My cars instrument panel displays will not come on and my car will not shift out of park. My car cranks up, and the interior lights and security system works. We just took the battery and alternator off and got them tested and they both passed and work fine. But when I start the car and crank it all of the instrument panel lights are off except for the light telling me that my door is open, and my car will not shift out of gear. The problem started when I went to the store and came right out and my car was completely dead. When I had my mother come help me and give me a boost she hooked the cable on wrong which started a spark and small fire over my negative terminal that went away. When she did that thought my car came back on to where it would crank, but I had those issues I mentioned with the instrument panel and my car refusing to shift out of gear. The only way I was able to get home was by pressing a button on my gear to put it into shift override that allowed me to put the car in Drive. Before all of this happened I noticed certain things on my car was messing up, like my passenger side window would not go down, and my headlights were very dim almost the point of not being able to see at night at all.
