I doubt any of this is true but regardless this conversation is about lower, middle, and upper class people. Not the top of the top 1%, scions of billionaires etc.

I make six figures, my girlfriend makes six figures. We work within the same realm (finance/banking). Most of our work friends makes similar money, many (not all) of our non-work friends make six figures or close. I don't know many stay at home moms. Not saying they don't exist - my mom was a SAHM. But all the data we have on marriage shows that most people marry within their bracket. Most people, mind you - not within a small 1% demographic nobody here is talking about. Marriage rates for upper class people keep going up while the rate amongst working class people go down. One group views marriage as an asset, another group views it as a negative because they're been conditioned to think that by media. I don't think it's a coincidence that this 50/50 discourse is constantly pushed by algorithms.

I don’t get 50/50 at all when married. When married, I would think you have shared goals. After all bills are paid, what do you do with the windfall? Retirement, emergency funds, kids college, investments, life insurance and whatever other savings. Beyond that, I would think you split the reminder as your money/my money or entertainment fund.

My Wife is a stay at home and has been for the last 4+ years. We had two babies back to back. The youngest is about to hit 2 and will be going to daycare in August.

It’s been a little tough but it’s well worth raising your kids for the first two years of their lives.

Once she starts working or going to law school, that money will build our wealth so we can retire comfortably, children will have what they need for college, and have assets for our children when we pass. We were intentional and are doing what works for us.

I can’t imagine life if/when Wifey hits 6 figures.

This afternoon I'm making either ditaloni or rigatoni all vodka with seared chicken and capers in lemon garlic sauce.

Shyts easy, you know what you're putting in your body and nobody can punish you via intake when you can do it on your own.

Cleaning is easy. Wash dishes as you go.

Wipe surfaces with all purpose cleaners. Sweep then mop every Saturday morning.

Scrub the tub every two weeks with comet and some scrubbing bubbles.

Takes 30 minutes.

Clean mirrors n counters weekly.

Self cleaning toilet tablets every friday.

There's zero excuse for not being a well rounded adult. Be serious.
