I don’t care what hiphop use to be

People listen to music cause they like the music not because the person wrote it

If it didn’t sound good to you then you would not listen no matter how it was made

What y’all are arguing is silly

Let me ask this...There are two artists that release 2 songs that you love equally. You absolutely love both songs. Play them non stop and memorize all the lyrics and ad libs.

Artist A- Wrote the song as an 18 year old riding on the school bus

Artist B-Had his management buy the fully completed song off of a Sound Cloud rapper.

Which artist do you admire more as an artistic talent? Not as a performer. But as a creative.

Artist A or Artist B?

Because some people have other interests than rapping?

Rapping ain't all that. Been around rappers my whole life, even wrote songs.

Why you acting like people don't have their own interests, fukk is wrong with you?

I mean its unpopular to say but the bar is pretty low for men to break into the current rap game. A nikka like playboy Carti can mumble while on lean and it's a hit but an equivalent female rapper just doesnt exist. If she does shes rightfully thrown in the trash. If you wanna be successful as a female artist you need bars and constant publicity stunts to stay relevant. We've got too many dusty nikkas gatekeeping this shyt :snoop:

You started off well then went left. The bar is incredibly low for male rappers but it is non existant for female rappers. As long as they look good and are willing to sexualize themselves they will get put on. None of these Cardi B, meghan thee stallion, Asian doll/da brat etc. have bars. Rapsody has bars, Nicki Minaj has bars but even Nicki isn't successful because of her bars shes successful because of selling her body over pop orientated rap songs.

If folks really want to keep it 100:

Doja Cat is the most talented in terms of being a pure artist than all of them.

She makes plenty of beats during her streams, live. Girl used to be apart of a breakdancing crew and she just performed with Hiero, Souls of Mischief and Del (artists she admits to listening to). She got both bars, melodies and rhythms for days. She can do full on hip-hop, full on R&B and full on pop.

Even that “Mooo!” video was completely made by her. She even got blackballed because she chose to speak her mind than pander.

I admire both songs equally

I don’t care how the song was made. The idea of caring makes absolutely no sense to me

I just care about the end product.

First thing he mentions is her 'natural body' when talking about her as a rapper.

Shes not a rapper, she sells sex in the form of rap and thats why you mentioned her body first. If she didnt dress, have the videos she does, and look the way she does and post those thirst traps she wouldnt be famous.

Image has always been most of the battle...always

Ain't Meg and Cardi on the same label?

I said it a few months ago on twitter, but these Cardi fans are gonna turn against her for Meg.

I don't listen to any of them really but Meg writes her own shyt and the label can put her product out cheaper than Cardi since they don't have to pay everyone plus Cardi to make her album.

Plus Meg has the better body and it's real :shaq:
Which is fukking stupid to me. Why would turn on Cardi in favor of Meg when they can just like/support both?

This whole idea of "you can only like 1 rapper at a time" makes no gotdamn sense

You're a casual fan of entertainment with no concern of culture and art..You don't care about the process..

Some folks just wanna drive the new BMW... Other's want to know how it was designed and what parts were used to create the engine.

It's not about being fake deep. It's about having a passion and interest..

You clearly are not passionate about hip hop culture. Which is cool. Neither am I at this point in my life. But I understand those that are. Because it raised me and inspired me at one point.

Nobody cares except rap nerds who don't even buy rap albums. Rap is pop now. Not surprising pop fans, who have had zero issue with artists not writing their own music - from Michael Jackson to Miley Cyrus - have no issue with rappers not writing their own lyrics.

I don't respect any rapper who doesn't write, and it's clear most of these stripper rappers are not writing shyt. It's a hustle, like everything they do. Not judging them - it was a hustle for a lot of rappers we respect as well. To quote one of our favorites... "fukk rap, I'm trying to make cream and that's that."
