My cousin is from a good family and he got caught up doing this out of state pre-pandemic.

Everybody in the car with him was chasing clout not the bag.

Im not saying resources is not needed in the community, but I guarantee that even if you get the resources, if you don't deal with the issue of hopelessness and lack of family structure.. We'll be in this same situation again in no time..

they should look at the household income of all these kids committing these carjacking's...

I know a lot of people that's in the low income bracket that ain't never car jacked anyone. I'm in the low income bracket myself. There's many cultures where the poor don't even think about car jacking you, say Japan.

No how about making it possible to survive and affordable to live for the average person. These types of crimes vanish to almost nothing when that’s done. Your solution is to make it more chaotic and increase car jackings turning into murders

yeah there are many cultures that where poverty exists where they don't do car-jackings but one thing that remains fairly consistent among criminals from a lower income bracket is that the crimes they commit or black market they operate in are regional. when a money-making scheme catches on with them, many others in proximity follow along. I've read in about beggars in india and child gangs who hack off a limb or finger because they believe it'll earn more them more sympathy and thus more money while begging.

japan is a collectivist culture and not worth comparing to the U.S in some respects.
