that shift was never going to reverse things quickly and thats goes to show the danger of letting bad things fester. I'm very concerned about teenagers committing crimes, especially these types of crimes which is a magnitude different from selling some weed. when teenagers get use to breaking the law in this fashion and "earning a living" that way, then thats what they'll likely do and escalate as adults which doesn't bode well for society.
those favelas, compounds/gated communities in brazil weren't built over night and the level violence and crime there didn't happen over night either.

the car jacking shyt is the result of the bullshyt virtual learning from the past 2 years. You got a lot of teens that would’ve exerted time and energy at school getting into gang shyt and and large car jacking schemes
crime is up over all because repeat offenders are not getting jail time when getting caught. They are being put on house arrest and “catch and release” due to the backlog in the courts
criminals should be locked up. That should be this countries focus. Anyone who disagrees with that is full of shyt
