The media being full of shyt is nothing new. It's much worse nowadays because cats don't want to lose their access. Honestly, it's always been about that but there were more true journalists who would call a mufukka out.

I didn't know this was even in question. Jeter was never, ever the best fielder in the game and everyone knows that. His gold gloves are almost the perfect equivalent to Kobe's all-defensive selections - built entirely on his offensive fame and the occasional great possession but not reflecting the full picture at all.

That means he wasn’t terrible. It’s become cool to shyt on Jeter now.

There's a huge amount of room between "terrible" and "the best fielder in the game this year". Jeter was nowhere near the best fielder in the game and most of his career wasn't even above-average.
