Dirk got a pass because he was coming off a title and a great run in the playoffs. Let's not act like he didn't take shyt for years. He took more shyt for a Finals L (that came after a run greater than anything Melo has ever done) than Melo has ever taken. Until he won that title he was considered a soft bytch.

The point of your original post, if I am not mistaken, is to compare Dirk's treatment to that of Melo and there is not denying that Melo has gotten off far easier than Dirk during their respective careers. Like I said before Dirk took more heat for a Finals loss than Melo has taken for any of his first round losses. Dirk was the one who was considered a soft bytch for years after that first Finals and the first round loss the next year. Didn't really hear shyt bout Melo until he got to NY and still haven't heard much when you consider his profile and the fact that he plays in NY.
