I've always liked the idea of building around Howard like they did in Orlando. I guess it depends on what ya'll would have to give up for him though.

Howard is good at his role currently which is rebound, block shots and being a good man defender but he's limited and isn't a star anymore. He's a very good role player.

We need a #1 option but one that will buy into the system

If Melo played a secondary role it could work. KD and Russ were 1A and 1B and sometimes It became complicated in terms of who deferred to who.

And inspite of all of that they were one of 3 championship contenders for 5+ years

If Carmelo played off Russ and doesn't try to take over the team..and let's Russ run the show I think it works. Melo"s skill set is exactly what the"re needing.

It ain't gonna work. Especially if they gotta trade value for Melo. Thunder would do well to trade for Melo if they didn't have to give up on Kanter, Payne or someone super important. They need to trade draft picks, not actually key players for Melo.

For sure, I don't mean to build the whole franchise around Dwight at this point, but getting pieces that can stretch the floor and let Dwight have space down low is still a good approach to have with him on the roster. Adding another backup center with the same kind of skillset, or a low post scorer would be good as well, perhaps Okafor could pan out in ATL.
