For sure, I don't mean to build the whole franchise around Dwight at this point, but getting pieces that can stretch the floor and let Dwight have space down low is still a good approach to have with him on the roster. Adding another backup center with the same kind of skillset, or a low post scorer would be good as well, perhaps Okafor could pan out in ATL.
When is the last time you watched Dwight? He's not that player anymore. He is terrible in the low post unless it's for an alley oop. He's a PnR big who is elite at rim protection, finishing and rebounding. But he is the worst creator of his offense on our team. That's not his game anymore.

Okafor cost too much. We just don't have the assets we are willing to trade to land him.

Somebody going to die between Oladipo, Melo and Russ trying to get shots.

no they would not. why are people still trying to push the narrative russ isnt a willing passer ? :dahell:hes avg 10 assists on a team without a lot of scoring talent.....meaning he could be averaging more if they were more consistent at making shots.

melo would never accept a trade to okc though

Lowkey nikkas don't want to see an inspired Melo
This is partly true but Melo is not a good defender any more. Not that he ever was but he's a below average one nowadays.

Not sure he would make a great difference, honestly, he should be a 6th man in a Odom role if we are talking about contending teams.

I've not caught a ton of Hawks games this season, I don't really have time to keep tabs on as many NBA squads. But I'm not thinking of Dwight as a post scorer he's never really been that guy, I'm thinking more of a presence down low who can capitalize off of putbacks, PnR mismatches and teammates stretching the floor.

Cavs dont need him, we have enough shooters. Korver has gotten loose with Love out got me thinking we dont' need Love even more than ever. Let's trade Love for a solid Rim Protector and Rebound. Drop TT to the 4 and he can't really reek havoc.

He's does that but the last part. You got to have good shooters to stretch the floor. Before you ask, why trade Korver, without Al, we couldn't protect him on defense anymore and he was a liability.

IS DRAYMOND A BETTER PLAYER THAN COUSINS?

I don't see how this is relevant. Draymond Green doesn't have to be a better player than DeMarcus Cousins to be a top 20 player. :pachaha:

You said you need to be able to lead your team to the playoffs as its best player and DeMarcus Cousins has not done that. So according to you DeMarcus Cousins is not a top 20 player, correct?:jbhmm:

Westbrook's assist numbers are a result of him not having that scoring talent around him. Opposing defenses can let Roberson and Steven Adams get those buckets, if they can focus on shutting down Russ they're good. Russ is leading the league in FGAs as well so even if defenses are focusing on him he'll get buckets, just not efficiently and there is where you have your problem. Those triple doubles look good on paper though I suppose.

That's why I like Melo around him. Millsap isn't a Ryan Anderson or Channing Frye but he's still a capable stretch 4, and what he lacks in consistency shooting the ball he makes up for in other areas unlike the other two I mentioned.

Agree that Sap isnt the shooter those guys are but Millsap does a lot more than shoot. He's clearly better than Melo. The thing is, Melo is an excellent scorer, that is something we lack. On top of that, he can defend PFs better than SF which gives us a lot of options. Sap can defend three positions and is extremely versatile
