We've sailed Royal, Carnival, Princess , Norwegian, MSC, and Holland America

Royal is weird to me, the brethren seem to be overly Bougie on there
I mentioned it before, this ho at dinner one night actually fixed her lips to ask us what we did for a living and how much we earned annually

But strangely enough, Holland America had the best food for us, the joke with all the younger cruisers at dinner was that the clientele for HAL is 70+,
So, they season the food more because most of the older customers' sense of smell and taste is diminished due to age ( that shyt was bussin')
My wife got mad at me because I was running down the hall yelling, lights out at 9, people.

We did that our very first cruise, thinking we HAD to show up every night, then realized we could do whatever the fucc we wanted and just skipped em for the most part every cruise after that b/c 9 times outta the 10, food being offered on the ship > their fake 5 star restaurant food for dinner

Not to mention, our very one, at our table was one of the most annoying niccas I ever met in my life. Told us how he snuck his trees on the ship (even before it was legal off da ) & he fa sure came off like he chiefed every hour on the hour, would not stfu

Thankfully VV doesn’t do the big dinning hall dinners. It’s all individual restaurants you make reservations for.

That was a Holland America cruise.

I am not playing when is say this -
Put me in the mind of a floating retirement center
it was back in 2013, and the average age on the ship was 73.
That was my vacation.

Absolutely no nightlife , but I am not playing when I say this , that was some of the best food I have ever eaten ------period.
We had a good time though, it was relaxing as fukk and the crew gravitated towards the younger people because we had the latest electronics and whatnot.

It was absolutely the most relaxing vacation I had.


Lights out at 9, friends , indeed.

If I cruise again, at minimum it's going to be royal carribean

My actual order tho was skip the appetizer, order two NY strips with veggies and white rice and then for dessert 4 chocolate chip cookies, none of that was on the menu though but most people dont know they can order the whole menu every night if they wanted...its unlimited just like the buffet

I thought the restaurants on VV were solid. The Food Hall was basically the buffet. Not great but got the job done for drop in meals.

Oh yeah agree there I don’t know the hang cruise line is making that level of food. For those interested in VV:

They had 5-6 restaurants you can book each night. Mexican, Steakhouse, Korean BBQ, Italian and a few others. We are at a few twice. Overall thought they were good meals.

I area of buffets they basically have a food hall with different options so you can walk up as many times as you want but it’s like one serving per visit. We went there a few times for in between type meals.

They have other satellite options like pizza, Mediterranean, etc. those were better quality than the food hall.

I will say me and my wife aren’t really breakfast eaters so we usually grabbed late lunch and earlier dinner so can’t speak to the quality of breakfast. Also since it’s adults only I feel like a lot of people were up later and they ship didn’t need a lot of breakfast options for kids.
