Do cruises take on a different meaning in America?
In the UK, you have a booze cruise where I'd expect some type of fukkery. Cruises around the world is some upper middle class thing where I really wouldn't expect that type of fukkery.
Over here, we have booze cruises where you party, and drink, but those aren’t common because we don’t have bodies of water like that everywhere. We also have yacht parties, or dinner cruises where you pay for dinner, drinks, and a sail around the water for a few hours.
But the hysteria around cruises in this case are the major cruise lines where you leave from a port in a major city, and it’s basically a hotel resort, with a casino, on a ship for multiple nights, with multiple destinations, and all the food is included. The Miami cruises, and most cruises where you are only gone for 3 nights are cheap, which brings in a lot of undesirables. The longer cruises are better, but the people will still be fat. They may not fight, but they will still be fat.
What I don’t understand are the people who stay on the ship, and never go on shore for activities. Every cruise you will have people who stay on the shop when you dock at the destinations. Most people do shore excursions, or get a driver to drive them around to see stuff on the locations. But there are always people (usually fat and white) who never leave the ship, and stay on board to eat, and stay at the pool all day. On my last cruise, the people across the hall had 4 trays of room service piled up outside the room.
But it can be a great way to visit multiple locations for a good price. The first cruise I went on left from New Orleans, and we went to Montego Bay, Caymen Islands, and Cozumel, Mexico. They have shows every night, a night club, and childcare.
