With YouTube you can fix any car yourself it’s a matter of if your willing to invest the time to do it

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
I'll never understand how one (the average person) would by a brand new car. You really burnin money. A car will lose worth with every mile you drive. It's just a fukkin car

I did it to build credit.
I leased to avoid maintenance.

This thread is about the cost of cars not financing or leasing.

Technology has basically put in cost of owning a decent car into the $30k and up range at a minimum.

Yea but on the flip side, this is the best era ever to buy used cars. A lot of you young dudes aren't old enough to remember buying privately owned cars out of a fukkin newspaper or local rag. Honestly todays used cars are much better than the cars of old, if you do your homework, know what to look for and haggle.

Car notes are slavery :snoop:

It seems like the car industry is currently designed to fukk over middle/lower class individuals.

It gives off the illusion of success, while raping your pockets.

72 month finance options now :dahell:
Cars have been marketed like expensive toys. To me a car is an appliance. To other people it's a toy. Do people get bored with a refrigerator or a microwave in 3 years and replace it? How about a stove? Those things as long as they work people aren't really trying to replace. With a car after a few years people get bored and want a new one.

I been driving the same beater for going on 6 years. A 2002 hand-me-down my folks gave to me for free. It feels good to not pay $500-$600 a month in a car note and insurance on something new. I've put about $3000 into the car the last 3 years to keep it running and it's not even worth that but to starve off buying a new car it's worth more than that to me.

Peace of mind next to health is priceless. I’m thinking of getting a red eye or tesla3 after driving a Hellcat for two years. Other cars about to be paid off but I may just drive it another year and stack some paper or use it on the house. Buying a brand new car does suck though unless you got it like that

If the current generation has been around for a while, find one that’s 3-4 years old and it’s way less. A 2-3 year old Sierra will go for under $25,000 :manny:. No good reason to buy brand new when they deprecate like that as soon as they leave the lot. A 2019 C300 with options will likely cost more than a 2015 S550 with under 45,000 miles and plenty of options. When you look at it in those terms, the choice becomes a lot easier.
