Did they know it expired before Cassie came forward and every article mentioned the law expiring or they all knew and just decided to file after Cassie in the final days?
I do think her case made others aware of the expiration of the law.

it's a part of civil procedure that requires you to try to settle cases before you file a lawsuit so i'm pretty sure these cases been going on negotiations for a while and just didn't settle so now they have to file to move forward since there is a deadline to keep it active.
