I think everyone agrees that Terrence should have been paid. He played the role well and IIRC was short changed once the movie did really well. Which is wild, as one of the FEW Black men even the damn MCU, they went straight to cheaping out on him. shyt is a terrible look.

But I haven't been like, especially disappointed with Cheadle because they haven't done much with the character honestly. I think they are prepping a show for War Machine though? So maybe we will see. I'll reserve judgement till then.

I never read the comics but I heard Rhodey was supposed to be a diesel war hero, basically a black captain america. I remember Cheadle looking real frail in one of them movies.

Iron man and war machine, and banner for that matter, are all supposed to be normal slim dudes under 6 foot in the comics. They look big and diesel when they are in their armor or hullked out, no reason for them to be buff outside of that. Thats for people like Cap and Thor.

I met cheadle and dude is literally 5’6 MAX. And slim. Most actors are small though.

In hindsight they definitely should have had Don Cheadle put on some more muscle for the role.

He was looking downright frail in some of those Avengers movies compared to the other cast.

He’s just the furthest actor I would use for the role. He’s good in certain kinds of roles, he was great as Miles Davis, but he doesn’t make sense as war machine and I think they should have just paid Terrence Howard more money. He brought so much more to the role and filled it better. Cheadle just comes off as a forgettable sidekick

Nah Omari too buff for the role. Rhodey is essentially just a pilot, not a super soldier. Robert Downey's build is the same type of build you would look for in war machines actor. Ya'll fan casting this like he supposed to be Luke Cage outside the suit. he just supposed to be a regular military guy.
he's more colin powell, than michael jai white. The suit is the buff part not the operator.

It was trash casting and if there was a time machine they probably would have just given him the money and developed that character in the MCU more, maybe even a couple of stand alone movies considering the other C tier characters they built movies around
