He can protect the rim, he's not great but he's better than what they have in the paint right now, and it will also help their rotations.

They passed on Jonas, Drummond, Len....and now giving up two fukking firsts for Mozgov :merchant:

Let this be a lesson, do not pass up on drafting centers when you have the chance.
Scouting is the most underrated aspect of sports.

Now I knew these cavs were not going to be as good as advertised but damn this shyt here is bordering on insanity:damn:

These dudes gave away a first round pick this summer just to dump Jarret Jack so they could clear salary space...

And now they talking about two 1st rounders for Timothy fukking Mozgov:damn:

Chill mode deactivated :sadbron:

Outside the lottery there are a good amount of quality first rounders, saying they're worthless isn't true when there's a gang of high quality players in the league now that were taken between 16-30.

The players aren't worthless, but from the Cavs angle the draft pick is, since you are just as likely to get a bum or basic role player. If you can trade that chance for a solid role player for a proven player (that fits the need of this current team) then the Cavs should take it...

No they don't, this year the Bulls have the right to swap picks, next year the Celtics get your pick.

How are you going to trade Haywood, package him with 2018 picks?

They will try to use it to acquire more assets.

Their mentality now is to improve the roster with what they have gotten the last 4 years, which is the whole point of acquiring assets for 4 years.

So, now the roster is what it is. They will probably sign Dalembert as well

It didn't take half those guys long to become productive players, hell Gobert is arguably the best defensive center in the league right now and he's in his 2nd season. Sorry, but first rounders are valuable as fukk.

Just in the last few years, guys taken outside the lottery.

Expirings only mean someone if a team has a bad contract they want to move....so if we don't have any picks to put with Haywood or any players of value his expiring doesn't mean much...

Another reason I think the Love trade is going to come back to hurt....and 2 picks for Mozgov I mean I know their late but no Mozgov for 1 pick and a trade exception is good....we over paid once again just like we did for love.

Mozgov is going to help them, but I struggle to think it'll put them over the Bulls.

Like you said, they keep overpaying, Mozgov is solid but not 2 first rounders solid.

Dog the proof is in the pudding. The Cavs had like 4 lottery picks on the roster last year and still lost a thousand games. Every team in the league has multiple first rounders, and the only ones that win consistently are the ones that have superstars. Its a crap shoot and the Cavs already have 3 "stars"....

A proven role player >>> a 50% chance at a role player 2 or 3 years down the road
