Nah it's actually rocket science.

You need a mix of an elite wing and/or big, front office lux tax backing, injury luck, championship level coaching, and team defense.

Kyrie Irving is not winning a championship as the #1 option.
No other player has performed better in the last 5 minutes of games, since 2011. He's been the best closer over the span where he's been in the league, whether or not that translate to the playoffs is irrelevant because that shyt right there is more than enough cause to prove your dogma wrong. There's no logical explanation to say he definitively isn't at this stage of his career.

Give him a flex offense, one of the best bigmen in the game, a point forward, a sharp-shooting 2-guard and a bench that can stop the bleeding and your view would no doubt be different.

History favors my argument.

they need Waiters to really step up...everyone knows PG's to win champi
Who the hell else on that squad gonna put up #s once Miles comes crashing back down to earth? Deng's #s will be inflated in Cleveland - doesn't mean he deserves that sort of money at face value tho.

why would they inflated in Cleveland - because he's actually playing with a PG who sees the floor (better than Rose) and actually has other scoring options on the team. Cleveland offense > Bulls Offense by far.

no PG is winning a championship as the #1 option - it just doesn't happen, think about the last two decades how many teams won the championship with a PG as the #1?
