N.iggas said Boston should break their team up and look what happened last year:mjlol: Cavs are still a very young team. Garland’s toe was a major problem this postseason. He showed a lot of heart coming back after missing some playoff games. Mitchell and Mobley played with f.ucked up ankles. Hunter played with a f.ucked up thumb. Yes every team is banged up but when your 3 all stars are hurt and missing time in the playoffs of course you gonna lose:mjlol: Am I open to trading DG if it improves the team…hell yes. But I also will be content letting this team play a postseason somewhat healthy. The season was a major success considering the inexperience of the team and being in year ONE under Kenny. I bet the Celtics are glad they didn’t listen to outside noise begging them to break up Tatum and Brown:mjpls: Sometimes you gotta go through heartbreak in the playoffs in order to find that extra gear:yeshrug:

Celtics didn’t break up Tatum & Brown but they made major moves over the years regarding the pieces around them until they got the right fit for a title run :manny:

If we keep our core intact we’ll be straight. I absolutely love how the Celtics didn’t blow s.hit up and kept tinkering with the role players. Once Tatum recovers you guys will be set for years

What's funny, Boston had a "core" of 5 not unlike Cleveland (but more successful in the playoffs) yet their management still said fukk that and deduced that the real core was just 2 guys (Tatum and Brown); everyone else could get bushed, and two of them did (Robert Williams and DPotY Marcus Smart).

Not saying those two are equivalent to Allen and Garland (not saying they aren't either, when they were healthy) but that CLE is approaching that same crossroads / coming to jesus moment as Boston

He just another DLo honestly. He drop off in playoffs and his small ass weak defense get exploited more than it does in a regular season schedule when teams can gameplan and target em. Still a good player but can't be the 3rd best player on a title team which what Cavs askin of him to be behind DMitch and Mobley. His role on a real title team would be the 4th or 5th best player.

Whats hilarious was dude was in the presser talking about “target Tyler Herro”

when he’s probably one of the 10 worst defenders in the entire NBA

And after popping all that shyt never showed his face again cause he out injured once again

Garland and Allen have been disappointing in both playoffs, although you can at least throw the injury excuse for Garland. I still think they will run it back ultimately. They are probably just testing the waters. But I am sure as soon as the right player comes, they will not have him on some untouchable list and be willing to move him.

Team wasn't healthy in the playoffs this year. With Tatum's injury they will be the favorites out of the East next year, they should run it back with this core one more time.

Couple things have to happen for the Cavs at this point...

(1) the midget back court tandem has to end. So either Mitchell becomes the full time scoring point and they move Hunter as a starter alongside Strus, or they gotta get an oversized point guard/playmaker. But Garland is naturally the odd man out.

(2) Mobley turns 24 next week and if they truly believe in him being something more than a superstar role player, then he gotta get/take the keys. Right now he's great at playing defense, great at rebounding other people's misses, great at scoring with no plays ran for him; great at showing potential then disappearing because they run no plays for him.

If he's not that guy (i.e. can't run the offense thru him or feature him as the primary beneficiary) and his ceiling is just a suped up #3 option, then fine... but if they believe he's more than that, we shoudl really be seeing that next year.
The one issue with them is that they got so many complimentary pieces that don’t create, so that’s when Garland does matter. I think Donovan is their best player and gives them a real shot at playoff glory, but Garland is who makes the others seem more viable as title contending pieces. So with him sucking in the offs, you probably gotta reframe alot of the rest of the team too tbh

Problem is I think he has more value with Cleveland than with another team when you put into what you have to trade away for the Cavs to let him go.

What team is like - I'm a Darius Garland away from real contention. The Magic.... maybe? What are you moving to get him?
