I just caught up to get the beef... It's kinda valid in my eyes, seeing how NCOBRA said they're the "legitimate" fight for reparations and what not. Ultimately it's looking like a battle of egos.

More importantly, Yvette, Tone and supporters want everything to be one way. Joy Reid is arguably, the only reason ADOS entered mainstream media talking points. I kept saying in the "Russian bot" thread that they need to demand a segment on the show to set the record straight rather than the same ol' livestream shyt. Joy Reid aside it was a chance to legitimize the ADOS platform in their own words. Supporters said fukk that tho and Yvette/Tone probably felt the same way.... They've mentioned media outlets reaching out only for them to turn them down... but NOW when someone else comes to fill the void, it's "They're out to get us! They're going to co-opt/hi-jack the movement!"-- Probably, but let's not act like you aren't deciding to punt

The man who YC directly credits for giving her the data and impetus for the hashtag acknowledged the work this group was putting in over 10 years ago. People over a certain age remember the bigger names like Randall Robinson and the others who were involved years ago. Younger people might actually think that the call for reparations began YT celebs.
YC isn't seeking the limelight, but she understands the move that msnbc did. Tariq seems legit hurt that he wasn't chosen to appear on tv and get shine. After all ,wasn't that the reason he hitched a ride on YC's wave?

Media controlled the narrative the minute msnbc show mention the hashtag on tv, just like you said. There is probably footage of ncobra lobbying for reparations from over a decade ago...which will be released soon probably.
I don't know how YC and Tone can or will try to convince people that ncobra doesn't predate their hashtag.

Im 34 years old, i was old enough to know IN THE 90s... the last time NCOBRA was relevant, that reparations talk then was considered a joke, all the way up to the 2010s, until now, that they weren't taken seriously till THIS YEAR. Every one TALKS ABOUT REPARATIONS, WHAT ABOUT TAKING IT SERIOUSLY?
