Sounds like the recruiter was being unprofessional, but it doesn’t mean you necessarily got ghosted by the job.

Email someone else; who did you do the phone interview with?

Now that it has set in how badly you want the job, act like it. Take initiative to check in while the recruiter is out on vacation.

I think they moved on Op, my baby sister just graduated college (proud of you sis) and she just got a job with them as a Cultural intelligence & Strategy Coordinator. The process for her was fairly simple and the interview was only 20 minutes from what she told me. I think when they put you through hurdles they may have filled the job already and their system hasn’t been upgraded.

At the very least, you should have contacted the recruiter before the week of the 1st ended. Contacting them on the 8th for something that could very well happen on the 9th is no good. If the recruiter didn't have a date for the next week by that wednesday/Thursday, it wasn't gonna happen and less of your time would have been wasted waiting.
Nah, she last contacted me on the 31st and I contacted her again for an update on the 5th and got no response.

7 days a week, 12 hour shifts, no sick days:dahell:
nikka do you work at ESPN:gucci:
Nah, I’m an ATM technician.:mjlol: My regular shift is 8-4:30 but my on-call week is when I work those hours. I hate that shyt.:snoop:

Breh, I did the phone interview and we went to the next stage which was a zoom call with the hiring manager.

I couldn’t. I was on call for my job and someone actually resigned this week so I had to work to help cover for them. That’s why I wanted it pushed out to this week because I was going to use one of my sick days to take off and do the interview.
So somebody else said fukk that shyt but you couldn’t stop the presses for 20 minutes lol bro you dropped the ball.

You played the fukk outta yourself dude.
You do whatever you got to do to get up out that job you don't like.
You obviously content being there if you not even putting forth the effort to make sure the interviews happen.
They were trying to give you every opportunity to get the gig, most folks aint telling you to redo your resume and all of that. They were real deal interested and you fumbled.
Jobs understand that you're most likely at work while they interview you so the setting isn't gonna be perfect, every job ive gotten ive done the interview at work, they don't care. You worried about optics instead of worrying about actually getting the job.
You fukked up breh

I recently got ghosted on a job opportunity I wasn't even looking for - THEY reached out to me, and since they're one of, if not THE top ad agency in the country and I was unhappy at my current job anyway, I said fukk it and did interviews. All of em went well, (especially one with this black chick that would've been my coworker who was :noah: and had a dope personality to boot) they loved me, even asked me when would be my best starting date. Then all of a sudden the communication gets scarce. I keep having to e-mail the recruiter and she's like "We're still determining hiring allocations etc etc. but we definitely want you so hang tight." So every week I get a little update...

then all of a sudden the damn recruiter leaves the company :stopitslime:

But she tells me I'm straight and that her replacement knows my situation. But this bytch is even worse at communication. Says absolutely nothing, then when I finally e-mail her she's all gassing me up again and telling me how much everybody likes me and wants me there, asks me my location, and I respond...nothing. Send a few e-mails, she says she's gonna be speaking to creative leadership the next week and she'll get back to me. A whole MONTH passes by and NOTHING. I e-mail again, she gives another gassing up response and asks me a question. I respond, and nothing again.

So I'm not even sure if I was ghosted or if their communication was just horrible. Either way, I dropped it because I didn't want to deal with that shyt; came off as unprofessional. Wound up working out because now I got a new job in New York that fell in my lap:smugdraper:

What do you do for ad agencies? :lupe:
I wanna transition to working in advertising from working in TV but I dont know where to start on the skills that I'll really need to add :lupe:

If you want to get into that shyt I'd advise going to an ad school. It's a lil expensive but it's the easiest route into the ad world because for new junior talent, they're not looking at credentials - they're looking at your portfolio. You can build a portfolio on your own time without school but it's a STEEP hill if you want to produce anything that agencies will actually fukk with, so school makes that way easier PLUS you'll get connections in the industry both through your instructors and your classmates. Worked out for me. You put the work in, you'll get it.

I got out of my old job for my current one because one of the big bosses straight fussed at me in front of everybody. Then she sent me down to Charleston for the week to cover the Walter Scott situation. I was like oh hell nah, I got to get out of here! I applied for my current job and got a response in the quickest time I’ve ever gotten a response. Man dude set up an intern for a certain day and I went right into one of the rooms in the job and did the interview lol. More money and a better city. I was out two weeks after I got the job!
