Since 2013 I was collecting vinyls and getting the rest of my music from Youtube and streaming services

But January this year I started collecting CDs again and I'm having a fukkin blast. Top tier sound quality, cheap, physical, convenient. This is so much fun and a nice inexpensive hobby for me. Long live the compact disc :salute:

I grew up in a small town and the only place to buy CDs was Walmart so of course they’re censored :francis:

The next town was 30 mins away :mjcry:
I rarely got CDs:snoop:

For some reason I really wanted Kanye’s Cruel Summer CD , like really fukking bad , maybe it was because of mercy , I use to have dreams about owning it literally :why:
That album was such trash:snoop:

I have way more vinyl than CD's I ripped everything to MP3, years ago, so my CD's are just taking up space.

Funny story my car was sitting in impound in another state and I traveled to get it out and get rid of it.

My CD collection (about 50 cds) is still.in the car.

For a quick second I thought might as well give these shyts to goodwill. Majority of my collection is on my externals.

But as I flipped through the book and started reminiscing :mjcry: I decided to take em.with me. I ripped the pages outta the CD book and packed em. I think ima make a custom frame and post the hip hop albums (the actual retail copies ) as wall art in my office.

Streaming is for the kids..
Nothing beats Vinyl, Cd and even Cassette sound quality! Nothing..

Streaming killed the excitement and anticipation of a new album you'd seen advertised forever in rap mags, going to pick it up and playing it while studying the inner liner artwork, contributors and shout outs.
Nowadays out of the blue you suddenly see a new album by a major artist being advertised as ready for download:hhh:

What’s the point of buying CDs? Vinyl I get because the quality is better and I can speed up or slow down on my Numark. And I sample off it.

But I can’t justify CDs in the 2019 :patrice:

CD is physical media thats.off network but can easily be converted into digital formats

Relying on streaming for storing music via the cloud isnt as reliable as you can lose the music by ending your subscription, having no internet connection or the retailers/streaming platform losing the license.

Your best option to avoid CDs all together is to save the.music to physical memory on a digital audio player, then use a data leecher to copy the media off the device and save it to a external

I used to buy cd's, still got 200+ of them that don't get any play, recently found out my cd player don't even work no more:russ: can't be bothered to get a new one. I hopped on vinyl and streaming. Streaming for listening on the go, artists that drop real good albums I buy on wax. It's mostly due to shelf life, when taken care off all those vinyls are gonna be playable by my great grandchildren:yeshrug: the cd's are gonna be worthless discs in pretty boxes in 50 years. So the vinyl is a great way to pass on my musical taste through the ages:ehh:
