Celtics-Rockets in talks on Dwight Howard trade

I can't be the only one who see's that the celtics don't have anything resembling a defensive big and that if they can get dwight to just play defense and rebound...what he does for houston anyway playing with harden and the hardenettes...that this could be a good trade...

Just like I can't be the only one who knows the entire point of stock piling those picks was to trade them in for a "star" players...or was boston just supposed to keep getting top draft picks and then like...5 years from now become something more than a 7th or 8th seed...

Clock is ticking there...brad stevens is way to good of a coach to be going to war with cody zeller and kelly olynk getting major minutes every night...

This is true but couldn't they just trade for a mahimi, Hibbert (I know he sucks now), Noel, biyombo types...Even to all in on whiteside...they could even be better off with Big Al Jefferson.

On defense I can see it, but they don't seem to have enough outside shooting to fully compliment Dwight on offense. But maybe he won't hurt the offense enough to undermine his contributions on D.

As long as they keep Sully or Kelly they will have the shooting at PF that he needs, or the threat of it.

And teams will still play hack a Howard with him in crunch time

Exactly now it's a chance they could keep biyombo...And whiteside will just be looking for the most money he could get...

But I'd do both of these moves before I'd grab Howard....I'd even look at Javelle Mcgee

Actually this trade doesn't make sense for the Celtics, they are a playoff team if they just stand pat and they are very young unit. Getting Dwight Howard won't get them past the Cavaliers.

Dwight is but he is likely to spurn them to be honest he's in the best situation for himself...All they need is rebounds and run protection from him...He went to Houston for a reason I thought...

Couldn't Boston get another rim protector?
