so far it seems like cutting spending and keeping mexicans out is the top priority of the mainstream tea party organizations. the tea party patriots have no mention of crony capitalism in their recent write up about this and since they apparently didnt give him any money it is hard to see how his win is the result of anything but the circumstances i describedI think you're making the common mistake of believing that most republicans are NOT against crony capitalism. The truth is that if you consume mostly mainstream media then the argument against crony capitalism is hardly ever to seen by you. Most republicans are STAUNCHLY against crony capitalism, but the message against it is rarely -- if ever -- delivered to them. . . BUT ONCE THEY HEAR IT, THEY SOAK IT UP LIKE A SPONGE. That's what David Brat represented here. He gave them a message they never hear. And hopefully his win will encourage more true conservatives (and liberals) to run on that platform.

if the largest outsider challenge group to republicans is not even engaged in this story, it is hard to extrapolate much outside of the regional factors at play in those particular states. i need to see the tea party go ham on crony capitalism the way they do for everything else before i think this is a broad movement waiting to happen
