I was recently thrown off the stage at an open mic for telling jokes about ISIS.

It sucks because people were definitely laughing. Hell some in the audience were yelling "PREACH!"

Just as I was setting up the next punchline. Then they started BLASTING music and the host came running to the stage.

I guess older Black folks (the ones running the show) ain't really feelin' anyone that isn't on some huck-a-buck jigaboo c00n sh!t.

No wonder Black comedy hasn't really progressed in 20 years. Shameful.

video of said event or examples of said jokes?

1 star pending....
I'll have video of some of my ISIS jokes as soon as one of the clubs I was at posts the video.

But that particular night was not on camera. At least not to my knowledge.

what was the angle on the jokes?
I have this bit where I talk about how the news is trying to say that Black people are ISIS, touching on the three black dudes they have over there and the UK rapper. "They're trying to make ISIS the new Illuminati y'all. Don't fall for it!"

Then I talk about how effective ISIS is at marketing, especially on Facebook. I make a joke about how they have the most compelling clickbait headlines. "We caught this westerner traipsing through our state spreading infidel filth. Click here to see what happens."

I also have this bit where I go in on the Sotlof saying that he was "no angel" and that we need to see his juvenile criminal record, a drug test and a his college essays to before we rush to judgement. "Let's not get ahead of ourselves"

The bit concludes with me telling how to defeat ISIS through non-violent, peaceful resistance and prayer. "Worked for Black people. Right guys?"

fuk em bro, they dont love us
This was a Black room, breh. From what I gather Black rooms don't play. Hella rules about what you can and can't say, too. Far less freedom and room for creative expression. Fvcking lame.

White rooms will just groan in disapproval if you offend them. People may heckle but that just leaves room for more jokes. My crowd work was the strongest part of my act at one point so I welcome the hate. It beats total misunderstanding.

I got banned at Raleigh's Charlie Goodnites for a whole year cuz I told a interracial couple (black guy, white girl) that "Once you go black.....you become a single mother." Everybody laughed including the couple but the manager felt the need to be offended on behalf of somebody and that killed my stand up in 09 before it started. I was actually funny too :to:

Why stop? Was that the only club in Raleigh?

The only interracial joke I tell at the moment finishes with "My favorite contraceptive is a white woman's better plans. Nothing spells doom for a fetus faster than a white woman with some sh!t to do. That Michael Kors watch doesn't go with that baby bump."

Goodnites was the only club in the area that would consistently draw a crowd. I could've drove to Clayton which is 30 min outside of raleigh or Greensboro which is hour and 30 min but I wasnt that pressed to do stand up but I didn't have that momentum
