The small character development Denji had only to regress
This story is starting to get frustrating
I understand he is a 16 year old boy controlled by hormones
Been there, Done That
But the constant narrative of women controlling his life
It was cool in part one but damn I wish he was further ahead in his character arc
It feels like he is always second to these mid ass characters being put in front of us
Pretty sure this will have a tragic end where he is all alone or sacrifices himself or it’s a complete Devil Man Anarchy ending but constantly getting played by people and him not standing up for himself is exhausting
I do agree the lack of development for Denji has been disappointing. It would have worked better if it was mainly only Asa up till the sushi chapter. Fujimoto is def building Asa to be the first woman to actually care and love him. I feel like we are close. Tbh with Part 2's release schedule I wonder how it will feel on a binge.

The literal Makima promise being repeated is a trip. Part of the complaints I've seen about CSM is "Denji keeps regressing" but I like to think that a lot of it comes from outside of forces that won't let him evolve or be happy. I think/hope Fujimoto is doing that to set up something extra in the grand finale. But who really knows? Half the time, I just get Devilman Crybaby Redux vibes.

I like that Yoru started with "Asa likes you." I'm wondering where the hell Asa has been. I've wanted Asa and Denji to have a real conversation since she broke him out of the prison. But even now when there's a chance, it's blocked.
Given that Denji thinks Nayuta is dead, I at least get why his mental is still fukked. Considering he was trying to change for Nayuta. He is just latching on to anyone. Was it ever mentioned how Asa and Yoru switch? The next Asa Denji conversation will be a big one. But who knows when we get that.

It is interesting with how Yoru explains her feelings. Asa does have an effect on them. But I feel there is something more genuine, but Yoru won't admit because that would be something more akin to a human. She thinks she is above that.

Yeah, I can understand his desperation even if the horny behavior has gotten to an eye-roll level at this stage. I don't think we've heard how Asa and Yoru switch, but we've seen both take control of parts of the body while the other is in control. I remember Asa making Yoru hit herself.

Yoru definitely feels like she's not being fully honest. The way she bodied the chef so she could cook for Denji is one example where I don't think Asa had anything to do with the move. It reminds me of how Nayuta's initial feelings were closer to Makima's, but being around Denji changed her gradually. Though, it'll come down to how all of this gets paid off.

Pretty solid chapter.
Man Denji self-aware of something bad about to happen now that he is with another crazy chick :deadrose:

Fami was interesting because of how much she differs from her conversation with Nayuta. It was definitely not what I was expecting.

Asa finally showing up got me intrigued what happens next chapter.

I think Fami is starting to like living around humans
It’s almost how Power started to humanize herself before her demise
Fami may be changing her perspective since she has friends now
Juxtaposition
I'm starting to worry that Fuji's subversive ending will be Denji sacrificing himself to save humanity, but being happy in the "next world" since he can be with Devils who are his friends. All his loved ones were or became devils at this point.

Chapter 195: 90% chance that's Death. Can't say it's impossible it could be control it just feels far too unlikely.

I do really like how Denji illustrates his experience with death. It is something you could never be ready for. Which is very true because the end is the end. For Asa, she is someone knows that her dying would be the easiest way to stop Yoru. But willing to do just doesn't happen overnight.

Also, Asa mentioning she can't be friends with Yoru when Denji truly felt like he was friends with Power is interesting.

The pair of panels with Denji's double-take were great. Just him, then the same image but he says "say what?"

Also...new classmate's eyes are horseman eyes.

So, I see a lot of reactions that "Yoru is the real villain" because:
Asa was saying Yoru's plans are even worse. The working theory is that she wants to spark a perpetual war by eliminating Death, so she'll continually gain power.

...but my mind went the "Fujimoto's always got jokes" route and assumed Asa was just worried Yoru wants to sleep with Denji :mjlol:

There's also a lot of people saying the new student MUST be Death, and her "I'm here to save you" means she's good. But I could picture a Death devil being like "I'll save you from this world by sending you to the next." I could also see this being another version of Control, closing the door on any "Nayuta's alive" theories.

I assume we'll figure it out fast, since Fami ought to be able to tell.

To no ones surprise that the new girl is Death. Though nice that we got confirmation already.

Who’s Fakesaw:patrice::jbhmm:
The way he came in with that corny speech made me think the goofy dude that claimed to be CSM early in Part two might really be the fake Chainsaw Man. He had a headband and a rip cord in his chest, but at the time, I assumed he was straight faking.

Random aside about this chapter too; I feel like Fujimoto trolled/shouted out fan theories about Kobeni being the Death Devil. Because the Death Devil's regular personality is basically Kobeni with even more anxiety. I want her to turn out to be a good character just to get another "the gang eats a meal" scene with her, Fami, Yoru, and Denji all at once :mjlol:

It makes sense that Death recovers by killing. But honestly, I don't think anyone suspected this type of personality out of death. The good old Fujimoto curve ball.

The mention of justice devil reminds me I really need to do a reread of this series. Prob do it around when Reze Movie releases outside of Japan.

Fakesaw Man in a cape made of flesh being guided by the Justice Devil...I'm speechless. He did go after Justice at the early part of this, so the connection makes sense.

I'm really confused about Death. If she was acting, I'd have expected her to reveal her real power/form by the second showdown. But she really seems built like the cringey girl she's been, and it tracks well with the other horsemen in a sense.
