there's nothing to go against
you don't like how the civil rights movement turned out but there's no reason why an oppressed group would not attempt one....:leostare:
I don't know about much politics but getting access to certain things seems like it's easier to achieve than building an entire new infrastructure in a country where your rights are severely limited
how can you build a community when you aren't allowed to make any big moves?
idk, maybe the same way blacks built communities with doctors , engineers, teachets, etc....... before the civil rights movement.

I never said not attempt a movement. I asked how was marching, asking to drink at water fountains, and ride the front of buses > building our own communities and not integrating?
How is allowing our dollars to leave our community after five minutes... better than letting it circular amongst us a few times?
How is being exploited in the media the same way as we were before the civil rights better than developing our own media?

is all i'm asking.

There were black empowerment groups around the same time as the civil rights movement but 95% of black Choice the democratic party and the Black Church over them.

We allow random ladies to be praised but allow Assata Shakur to be called a terrorist........... you even have black people who call her a so called Militant.

Most of black American Gave two shyts when Fred HAmpton was shot. Thats a shame to me.

The Deep State
I have friends that went to our schools.... with this so called funding.

The gap between me and them....... is So ridiculous, that shyt made me sad, I didn't know until I was around 21 how bad it was..

My sat score was higher than EVERY SINGLE PERSON in my little brothers School District. So miss me with all this bullshyt.

there are two different worlds in this nation.

We need to build and educate our own. Am I right or wrong?
1. You went to a shytty public school whose problem is that?

2. I don't care about your SAT score

3. I support black prosperity. What does this have to do with your lack of understanding of the law and what changing the law can do on a level of a social issues like racism?

blacks helped build this country and people taking away their humanity was also unacceptable to them, imo
seperate but equal just comes off like "we lost so we aren't playing anymore", also imo
you can't live a life full of the freedoms they got you and then try and pick apart their decisions
their lives and perspectives were different than yours

You do know that in the south segregation was oppressive right?
you seem to have this idea that things was equal and people just wanted to be around whites.
I don't have that idea.

I have the idea that Chicago , DC, Detroit and other cities RIGHT NOW are MORE segregated than they were even back then..... (so wtf was the point)

Detroit water crises isn't really something that the UN will pay attention to.
People did want to be around whites, but I know that wasn't the main idea. The idea was we'd get better facilities and better treatment under the law.

Here is the thing though...... black people owned clubs, restaurants , illegal spots etc......... Sorta like that movie Harlem Nights...... all the way back to the 20's.
It wasn't like the shyt was oppressive just because We had our own. What was oppressive is our schools didn't get funded and we couldn't attend white schools.

Look at white flight------- and HOW BLACK MEN follow behind white flight when they get money, instead of building up their own communities. These ideas are ingrained in us.

The most we chose to do is diss anyone with a different idea and call them militant, - when they really aren't.
Maybe it's just that some people realize that the New Jim Crow ( more in prision than were enslaved in 1850's) happened after the civil rights. Or the government flooding urban centers with drugs happened after the civil rights. Single mother epidemic and Decline of Black Pride Overall.
Or that our masses are not progressing in modern times. Etc. We see this and we wonder what has those rights done for us when

the state of the African-American family is worse today than it was in the 1960’s

you don't support black prosperity, :comeon:
You say all religious people are idiots and should be fazed out-- when most black people are spiritual.

stop it. I'm not gonna call you indian like Every other poster- because Idc about that. But I will point out that you support white supremacy in the form of Western Imperialism and you're grossly unashamed about it.

and i went to one of the best schools in the nation and i was home schooled by educated people initially. I'm speaking about the fact that i'm born in the same location of everyone i know and the environment produced such gaps. the Black masses can't have mass class mobility under the current structure.. and i know you don't give fukk, but it interest me.

yes.

Sort of like how we used to have a few black wallstreets.... along those lines.
I don't believe accepting a permanent 2nd class statues is the right way to go. Because even if I'm successful, 98% of the nikkas from my neighborhood aren't and mainly because they didn't have the chances I did.
and my sons have to deal with the stigmas of their sons actions in the future-- because we are all one group.

But yes, argument against us just building our own.
Look at Haiti and Liberia and tell me how that worked out. If you don't want the majority of your population to live like a peasent in zimbabwe, you need billion dollar companies generating enough gdp to support your economy. How are you going to achieve that without interacting with the white man? Where are you getting the technology and infrastructure from? Who are you going to sell your products to? What products are you going to produce?

We didn't fight for human rights.
I say that because you say people took away humanity. Blacks fought for the civil RIghts of all Americans regardless of race.

Im not picking apart anything either, im just asking questions for clarification.

But many blacks even in those times living underneath the same conditions, had an opposition to the focuses of the movement.

Its more about having a different ideology than about being disrespectful or living in a different time.

For example , my grandfather things how I do. He marched w them same as if I participated in protest today...

Just cuz you march doesn't mean you have to agree that marching is affective. Building up your own is affective.

I like this post...

You at least raised valid questions.
Anyway, we didn't ask for Africa to be colonized or for us to be brought here.

We built this nation. And some of these billion dollar orgs wouldn't exist w o us. So we have every right to utilize whatever we need to build our own communities.

Right?

maybe

you can help me understand.

I remember a young 20's Sohh blackking talking about the naacp and other black organizations etc.. like it was all a net positive, despite everything.

Now I'm starting to wonder if it's a good thing that the majority of blacks supported these groups that were created by whites and Jews..

These same 'Black' groups that Got Marcus Garvey locked up for asking the same shyt I'm asking now:patrice:

I also blindly believe any "black' institution was good for us, even though nothing good ever happened to anyone I knew. :patrice:

Sounds like they failed trying but, don't wanna admit it so we can move on..

Yes you do, but in order to be granted this right, you need to fight for equality.

We aren't moving forward.
Show me a group of local black busines I can support In most major cities.
Show me black family stats.
Show me our representation in the media.
Show me how we're not affected by white supremacy
Show that there were more enslaved in 1850 ,than are in and out of prison now
Show me our rights (we fought hard for) in the justice system and educational systems.

I agree, we need to move forward.
Do you think we can do that with the same ideas?
